Wonderful!

Plug and play, easy to use, this has definitely helped with my midi set up with my synthesizers and effects processors. I cannot recommend this item enough! Killer!

Music background: Techno, baby!

Works like a champ, very easy setup

I'm running 32 channels through this interface, 16 analog and 16 ADAT (8 mic preamps from a MOTU 8-Pre and 8 line inputs from a Focusrite Octo-Pre). The unit would lose connection occasionally until I upgraded to the latest driver for my Mac running Montery, which I should have done from the start. Since then, it's been perfect. So easy to set up too. Just had to install the latest driver from the website, and the rest was simply "plug it in and go". It replaces my 32 channels of Apogee at less than half the cost. So it does just what I'd hoped it would, and sounds great.

Perfect - Does exactly what it says

Nothing fancy here; just a nice simple MIDI interface. I'm using it on a Windows 10 machine, running Cubase. It sits very close to mics so I was concerned about noise. It is totally silent and USB powered. I plugged it into my display USB port and it came right up...instantly recognized in Cubase and just works.

Solid and dependable

This is a solid and dependable unit that can be mounted in a 1U space. Powered by USB which is as convenient as it gets. There are 8 MIDI OUT in back of the unit, and channel 8 OUT is mirrored on the front of the unit. The only input for channel 8 is on the front, which is only a slight ding as far as I'm concerned. I would prefer it on the back. The MOTU MIDI 128 is blessed with simple construction and connections are all standard MIDI. My eight synthesizers, both keyboard and module, are all talking happily with each other via Macintosh Audio Midi Setup. The performance of this interface has been reliable and flawless from the outset. No latency because, like all MIDI since 1983, the signals are nearly speed-of-light and are transmitted without interference. And, as always, Nick Church and Sweetwater customer service is unparalleled in the industry! Nobody does it better.

MOTU MIDI Express 128, MIDI USB Interface

The MIDI Express 128 is a straightforward 8-in, 8-out MIDI-to-computer interface using USB for computer communications.
I am using this with Reaper, Tracktion, and any other applications which require a MIDI Interface on my Windows 7 system.
The ASIO drivers loaded flawlessly and the eight MIDI in and out ports immediately showed up in my DAW.

I decided to swap the unit with Sweetwater to upgrade to the MIDI Express XT because I found I also needed the MIDI patch bay functionality of the XT.

Brian Loney and his team made the exchange absolutely painless. Just one more reason why I stay with Sweetwater. :-)
