Love It!!!

For such a small interface, I get all that I need to make my vocals mix clearly in my music...It is all I thought it was going to be PLUS MORE!!! Perfect for my portable studio :)

Great unit but confirm USB 3.0 support before buying

In theory, USB 3.0 is supposed to be backward compatible with USB 2.0 and thus the MOTU MicroBook II USB 2.0 audio interface should have no problems being plugged into a USB 3.0 port. In practice, the USB 3.0 drivers written for your computer may not be compatible with the MicroBook II drivers when the audio interface is plugged in.

Always check with the manufacturer before ordering a product that "should" be backward compatible. For example, in this case checking if the MicroBook II USB 2.0 audio interface is compatible with your computer's USB 3.0 drivers. In my case, the MicroBook II drivers were not compatible with my computer's USB 3.0 drivers. Thus, I must use a USB 2.0 port until MOTU can release new drivers that are compatible with the USB 3.0 drivers on my computer.

This is a general comment that applies to all hardware that should be backward compatible, but may not be. Its worth the call or email.

If not for the USB 3.0 compatibility issue, I would have given this unit 5 stars. Supporting 24bit/96k through this size of a box at this price is surprising. Realize that when pushed to its highest quality limits you will get some significant latency in the audio input/output stream. I would have preferred separate L/R 1/4" for the line out jacks, but an insert cable fixes the issue.

This Is It!!!

This Is the best Interface I've used so far and I've tried a lot Avid, Apogee, mackie, focusrite, m-audio, and by far motu makes the best all around Game Interfaces when it comes to Wanting Good Sound With Lots of Options and FLEXIBILITY "MOTU IS THE GO2!" The Microbook 2 is everything you should need and more in a portable setup Mic, Guitar/inst, Keyboard/module 1/4 inch line ins and 8th inch stereo input I use for sampling or when some one wants to play things from their ipads/ipods/laptop/cell phones ect Also has a Main out for monitors and a 8th inch stereo line out that I use for a second set of headphones when recording. or for connecting to home or cpu sound systems. Great button knob functionality. and Really GOOD! SOUND! I get from my recordings and Mixes this is def a good buy My only Minor ISSUE is that the Wording on the unit easily rubbs off
