Four Tracks & More
At its core, the Micro BR is a four-track studio with four simultaneous playback tracks and two simultaneous record/input tracks.However, there's more to this recorder than meets the eye. Each of the four main playback tracks also has eight companion V-Tracks (for a total of 32), so you can record take after take after take, then pick your best material for final mixdown.
Drum Machine & Effects Onboard
Given the Micro BR's small size and low price, you might be surprised to find the next two features onboard: (1) Almost 300 drum patterns are included. Use them for play-along inspiration or even as song foundations. The rhythms don't consume any of the four playback tracks - they play back independently. (2) A quality multi-effects processor is onboard, including a time-stretch algorithm for changing the tempo of your audio tracks without changing pitch - a great tool for both audio editing and phrase training. The Time Stretch feature can also be used with MP3 data; the Micro BR's Center Cancel feature can be applied to MP3 data as well.
MP3 Compatibility
The Micro BR is capable of loading and playing MP3 files. Load up your favorite guitar hero song via USB, slow down the tempo with no pitch change, and learn all of your favorite licks. You can even use the Micro BR as a standard MP3 player. All of your data is stored on convenient SD (Secure Digital) media found in common electronics shops. The included 128MB card, for example, can record approximately 65 minutes of audio when one mono track is selected.

“I love this little thing! Easy to use! Really fun effects. Great little 4-Track. Powerful yet compact. The internal mic is nice, too. I use mine as a scratch pad. Be sure to buy a power supply! You'll be using it a ton!”

"The Micro BR is a great tool for any guitarist looking to further his playing ability! You can play along with MP3s; slow the MP3's tempo down to learn at a comfortable pace. It even has vocal cancellation features so you can solo the entire song. What a great learning tool! Oh, and did I mention it's a 4-track recorder that fits into the palm of your hand! The "bells and whistles" go on and on."

"The Boss Micro BR is a great little machine for the musician on the go. I purchased mine thinking I'd use it as a quick way to record rehearsals because it's got a great mic in it or I could easily plug a line out from our board into it. Was I surprised though about all the other things I am doing with it! I use it as a headphone amp to practice with and the tempo changing capabilities help a lot with that. I've also jacked it into my car stereo and used it to practice on the way to a gig while a friend drove. The recording features are great as well, four tracks with the ability to bounce up to 32, a built-in drum machine with 294 patterns, multi-effects for bass, guitar, mics, and mastering once you're done, all in a little package! It's a great deal and the usefulness is amazing. Every guitarist should have one in their gig bag!"
