Beautiful sound and ease of use has made this a joy to master projects and produce quality, cd copies. A must for any project or professional studio. The Alesis Masterlink is a marvelous and well devised unit.

I've used the MasterLink on most of my projects, and it's operation is flawless, the sound is great, and it's virtually bulletproof. And the fact that I can put it in a ATA case and take it with me to other studio's is nice.

We originally picked up the Masterlink to have the ability to play CD24's (which more and more of our clients are shipping us now). The sound quality is fantastic, the converters are surprisingly top-notch, and the DPS functions are simple to learn and navigate.


Now it has become an integral part of the mastering chain; sending the 2-buss mix through an Avalon compressor and EQ, then into the Masterlink. While the Alesis ML offers ample compression and EQ, we generally perform those functions with the Avalons, and simply rely on the Masterlink's excellent limiter to catch any peaks which might slip through the chain unexpectedly.


The individual track gain adjustments and ability to create several custom playlists are indispensable tools during mastering; allowing you the freedom to match adjacent track levels and make critical track sequencing decisions with ease. Never was much of an Alesis fan before this...but I definitely am now! I give the Mastrerlink a 10.
