The classic electric mandolin is back The first Fender electric mandolin, nicknamed the Mandocaster, was produced in 1956. They were extremely popular in many genres of music. Everyone from Jethro Burns to Sam Bush and many more have used this classic electric instrument. Utilizing the original rounded shape, the Fender Mando-Strat's alder body is lightweight and comfortable to play. The C-shaped maple neck is topped with a rosewood fretboard that sports 24 frets. The vintage-style adjustable bridge was made on the actual machine Fender used to make the original parts over 50 years ago. I wanted something I could just plug in, no nonsense. This thing fits the bill perfectly.May 16, 2013 Music Background: Intermediate player, hobbyist, performer - wonderful for late-night practice (won't bother family/roommates) - very responsive tone control - good action out of the box, playable all the way up the neck - only two bridge saddles, so intonation might be off (you can upgrade the bridge later though) - great sustain Right now, I'm plugging this into my Zoom G3 guitar pedal and playing it through the acoustic guitar simulator, then plugging into the PA system. It works fine. close [-] Fender Mando Strat
