Customer Reviewsfrom London, UK May 24, 2011 Music Background: Recording Engineer, Musician Much better when I think!!!It's a really neutral, flat and natural sound speaker. Much better for mixing when more expensive Genelec (only Hi-Fi, not a true control speaker - I have 8030a) and Adam A5 (useing this for Sony PS3). Do not believe in gimmick expensive brands and sayings of famous producers, they get money for advertising. I just believe my ears!from Pittsburgh Pa September 22, 2008 Music Background: artist/producer wowuse these everday for mixing down would recommend for any home studiofrom Tokyo, Japan June 18, 2008 Music Background: Recording Engineer, Songwriter Excellent Near Field Monitor for less than $1000!I compared an entire wall of monitors at the store and these were the only monitors less than $1000 that have the flat character and clarity to accurately mix on.These things remind me so much of NS-10s. Those aren't being made anymore, so either buy 'em used or get these instead! from Oklahoma June 19, 2009 Music Background: Producer / Mixing Engineer / Recording Engineer / Musician Best in its RangeThis is a darn good nearfield monitor. I have a set of the Yamaha HS50Ms, and these are SO much better. They've got more low end, the top end isn't so harsh, and they really translate pretty well. They take a bit to learn, but they're not fatiguing. Great low end, great top end (I roll off the top with the 1.5dB switch) and for just a little bit more than the HS50Ms, get these. Go read on the Yamaha site--they say that these MSP monitors are more accurate than the HS series!from Mataram, Indonesia July 19, 2011 Music Background: Sound Engineer, Musician Accurate mid/hi areaI've used these for 3 years now and always perfect for tracking and mixing for acoustic to light-rock musics. I dare say it's the best in it's price range. But if you you're in Metal, electronica or another musics which the thumping low end is important, then you need a sub woofer to help these babies. Yamaha SW10 Studio might be the perfect choice, but it's production has been discontinued.
