This preamp is a simple no frills made in USA product,
Very well made. Sound is smooth, great for miking an acoustic guitar with a sweet mic . I use it on my drums (snare I5 to preamp) and it sounds nice and crisp but not cheap sounding. These were used for DJ and Radio paging systems but are great for front end daw recordings. Just make sure you run a small ground wire from the back of unit to a 3 prong adapter with the wire on it, then attach the ground wire to the plug and your set, no noise at all. This is the best solid state alternative for the money.
