This is by far the best instructional Pro Tools DVD set ever. Rather than just giving you information, they SHOW you. Which is the key. You literally get to sit with John Merchant and watch him mix. W... read more [+]hat could be better than that? He shows you how to set up your session, editing techniques, mixing techniques, and best of all, he explains everything he is doing in great detail. Some of the stuff shown you may know, some you may not. Either way, you'll definitely gain knowledge from the experience. I drove all the way out to Sweetwater from Cleveland, OH to attend the Multi Platinum Pro Tools Workshop with John Merchant. It cost me about a 4 hour trip, gas, and then money for the DVD set. Was it worth it? 100% yes. Everything shown at the workshop was a fragment of what you get on the DVD's. All of my questions were answered, and I am definitely making better mixes already. There is a huge difference in the sound I was getting in my mixes before, to the sound I am getting now. I definitely suggest picking this set up if you need to learn mixing techniques. close [-]

I love the fact that they provide the same sessions the instructor is working on to follow along, for me thats the best way of learning, it's a hands on experience.
