Customer Reviewsfrom MI June 23, 2011Music Background: Pro Musician, Vocalist Does what it claimsI purchased a VoiceLive 2 to accommodate for inconsistency in vocal backups in my band. The VL2 can accomplish amazing harmonies: Sweet Emotion, Don't Stop Believen', One Way To Rock, etc., But, I didn't have a very good mic for blocking ambient noise. A Shure SM58 or SM57 will not accomplish this at all. Being in a rock cover band can produce ambient noise which negatively effects the VL2 harmony output, causing warbling\crackling harmonies. After watching the MP75 video and reading how it offers extreme ambient noise cancellation I decided to purchase it. It solved my issues at rehearsal but the real test was playing through a $60k concert sound system outdoors on a stage with loud monitor wedges. I was a bit worried on how the mic would perform. The MP75 to my surprise performed flawlessly. All my complex three and four part harmonies were produced perfectly regardless of the ambient noise. So, the mic does what it says. And, the Shortcut function button on the mic is super responsive and made if a soft rubber. One slight press and you can activate a harmony instantly. You can set your preset shortcut harmony event to end the harmony on button release (smart choice) or leave the harmony on after initial press, which is dangerous during performance in my opinion. In short, I LOVE the mic and the sound quality is great. TCH does need to update the VL2 firmware to allow the mic to "step through" multiple harmonies steps in an effect preset. Keep in mind the current VL2 firmware will not accomdate this ability yet. In the harmony feature, you can only activate or "step" one harmony layer. Additional harmony "steps" in a preset are not accessed. I wrote and called TCH begging for this feature to be added in the future.
