Nice inputs
The Alesis MultiMix 16 USB FX boasts 8 XLR inputs with independent gain controls. You get switchable phantom power to handle both dynamic and condenser mics. You've also got the flexibility of 1/4" line inputs fitted across all 16 channels. A high-impedance input on channel two lets you plug your guitar or bass straight in - how's that for convenience? An RCA stereo input is also included, giving you the ability to mix in audio from external sources such as CD or MP3.

Robust processing
Each channel of the Alesis MultiMix 16 USB FX includes multiband EQs, with channels 1-4 featuring sweepable, parametric midrange. You also get an internal effects processor to effortlessly finesse your mix. You can call up reverb, delay or phasing simply by tweaking the pre or post-fader knobs on each channel strip. The MultiMix 16 USB FX also features aux out and stereo returns, as well as insert jacks on channels 1-4 to accommodate external effects processing.

Built-in audio interface
The Alesis MultiMix 16 USB FX - like its brethren in Alesis's MultiMix USB series - packs a full-fledged USB recording interface. You can plug the MultiMix 16 USB FX's USB connection into your Mac or PC without installing any driver software, and have a direct digital stereo connection with your favorite audio software. The MultiMix 16 USB FX allows bidirectional stereo signal, so you can record the main stereo output to your computer and play back, using the mixer as your interface for software, headphones and monitor speakers. Pretty cool, right?
