Looking for a multi-tool for stage and studio? The Behringer MDX1600 Autocom Pro-XL Compressor is a dual-channel compressor/limiter/expander ready to take on your biggest challenges. The expander increases signal presence and energy, while the compressor minimizes peaks without loss of high frequencies. The switchable Interactive Knee Adaptation (IKA) in the MDX1600 combines the advantages of hard and soft-knee compressors. You can combine both channels for stereo operation, and also turn on the side chain input for monitoring.

What a great piece of gear. It solved alot of my live sound problems. I run sound for a Bluegrass band. I use one channel for the mains and the other for monitors. A Good Compressor

I just purchased this Behringer compressor today. I have the older version of this unit that has been in service for 7 years under heavy gigging use. It has yet to give me any problems and works ver... read more [+]y well for me. While I know there are better units out there I don't think anything works quite this well at this price point. It is very good for live sound and I have also used it to record in studio situations with very good results. If you understand how compression works then this unit will work for you. I really like the "auto" setting for limiting/ compressing pre-recorded music in a DJ situation. As with any gear, proper care is always a must. Honestly, with Sweetwater's "free" 2 year warranty you can't lose on this unit! Higher priced units are, of course, much better but this is more than enough quality for most applications in live sound. close [-]
