I have had my M-Box2 now for just a little over a month now and I could not be any happier with the ease of use and sound quality of this software/hardware.

The extra plug ins that come with the Ignition Pack 2 are great (and not trial versions) they help make my music sound that much better. Since I just finished my project studio this was definitely an added bonus since now I don't feel a bit short handed by a lack of extra plug ins and the such and the upgrade path to get full versions is way cheaper than buying them at full retail and although I never plan on taking any of my recordings to a professional studio for final mixing it's good to know that my sessions will work on HD LE and M-Powered systems alike no matter where they are which is cool for when I need to travel and work on music in other cities or states.

All in all, if you are in the market for making your own music at home or on the road and use Pro Tools as your primary DAW you cannot go wrong with the M-Box2 and if your a student like me the discount is great for people with limited budgets.

I really liked the discount I got form Sweetwater for this little piece. I started out using an Mbox and moved up to this due to its sleeker design (more desktop space) and the improved preamps. The only thing that I don't like about the eudcational version is that the upgrade deals (Mbox2->003R, etc.) don't apply to it. I guess that's just the deal you cut when you get a price cut for education. Otherwise, a great starter for anyone wanting to get involved in digital computer-based recording. Keep mixin'!

For anyone that doesn't need more than a bunch of inputs, this is the best thing, especially at such a low price. I've never actually used protools before myself. I've recorded in studios that do and have seen it being used. When I got the mbox 2, I was up and recording in no time at all. Protools LE is everything I need right now. I will probably be upgrading to the digi 002 eventually, but for right now, this is the product of choice for me. Even when I do upgrade, I will keep this for it's portability. Just drop it into a backpack and you are on the road recording.

So, if you are wondering if this is a good product and trying to figure out if you should buy it . . . "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?". I mean just look at the price. It's like getting a thousand bucks for a hundred.
