Superior sound quality from new preamps and converters
Digidesign rolled up their sleeves and went to work to make sure the Mbox 2 delivers superior sound quality that easily surpasses the sound of almost any other bus-powered USB-audio interface. Mbox 2 features newly-designed mic preamps (designed by Digidesign) and new A/D and D/A converters, offering an impressive dynamic range that translates into much more headroom and a significantly lower noise floor. The result is that Mbox 2 users can record ideas more accurately and play them back in greater fidelity than ever before.
More simultaneous audio inputs
Unlike the original Mbox, Mbox 2 enables you to use the two analog inputs in conjunction with the two channels of S/PDIF digital input on the unit to achieve four simultaneous channels of audio input. That means it's easy to connect a drum machine, keyboard, sampler, or other gear and record simultaneously.
New MIDI I/O
Even with modern computers, it pays to install fewer devices and conserve bus bandwidth. Unlike the original Mbox, Mbox 2 features a MIDI in/out port, offering improved integration with MIDI controllers, hardware synthesizers and samplers, and virtual instruments. That means you don't need an additional MIDI interface!

Though the software applications included in the Pro Tools Ignition Pack are "lite" versions, they are fully functional tools that pack in serious features for music creation and production. you have a Pro Tools(industry Standard)inside a portable recording unit. Some negative comments about this unit just make me sick!! if you have the right computer hardware, OS updated, USB with the right drivers, enough RAM, you wouldn't have any issue with it. Keep using the original "USB" cable with the ferrite (provided with the unit) to avoid...” Read More
