Awesome pop filter

I've gone through a couple pop screens and this is by far the best one I've owned. The pop filter stays in place, a problem I've had constantly with other pop filters. Nice quality and again once adjusted it stays in place. Great product

The Best

I use this constant.I have used $2000 mics without these(befeore I knew of them) and always wondered why I sounded horrible..I sing very loud and this is the best I have seen or used.Period.Can't live without this. The doubled feature this has makes all the difference. Will turn your vocal performace from demo to very clean. After using it,You can hear A singer not using one in 10 seconds.Period.

I'm no expert, but...

This seems to be a quality pop filter, and it has done a good job for me, even though I've only used it for a couple of tracks. The only reason I gave it less than five stars is that it is a little difficult to get adjusted. The reason for that is that the gooseneck is tight so, once you have it in place, it stays where you put it. It seems completely transparent acoustically, but I'm no expert and my ears may be experienced, but they're also old, so don't take that for an expert opinion. All in all, I think this is an especially good value.

MA-SS-B

Ok pop filters are not the most fancy thing to write a review about, but someone has to.I get alot of rappers in my studio and some female R&B singers i had been using some other pop filters but still getting some pops,i would sometimes use two filters to help get the pops and sss out. This led to having a lot of xtra weight on the stand more things for the singers to knock around and hit leading to more problems and do overs. So i saw the MA-SS-B at Sweetwater called my rep and he gave me good advice on this product. Iam preety happy with it.It has helped control alot of pops that you get and cut down alot on the sss. I did have a little problem with the goose neck it seems a little tight and some times hard to get into the right spot but with a little work you can make it work. With male vocals it handled every thing that i have put in front of it. With female vocals it handled the sss good i had a little problem with one female singer who has a very powerfull voice on poping some b's and p's but had her move back a little mic movement and everthing worked out fine. So this is a good product i give it a 4 only because of the goose neck but it looks good and singers like getting in front of it.

Great at stopping pops. Wish it came in a smaller size

This thing is bulky but effective - much better at stopping plosives than a single screen filter. Two drawbacks - the gooseneck is too short. It's the same length as a single screen metal filter, but it's less flexible so you need more length to bend it around to the front of the mic. I had to mount it on a separate stand to get it in front of a shotgun mic. The other problem, I don't need it to be so large to get in front of a shotgun, really wish a smaller screen size was available. The screen actually blocks your view.if you're closer than 6 inches away from it.

Pop music

This is a decent pop filter. They are by nature a bit of a pain. They don't like to go where you want to put them , and they don't stay once you get them there. This one is a little better on both acounts, but not a lot. My other pop filter is the solid screen variety and I find there is a sibilance that happens as the air passes over the screen with that one. The overall sound coming through this seems more natural , less effected. It's a bigger target than some - I like that too.

cheaply made

here's the deal: owned it for a week before the outside filter fell off. i plan on using glue to put it back together, easy fix. however, for the price one would expect a little more quality.

that being said, as one piece it performs like a dual pop filter should. much better than a single filter.

Gooseneck is too short for my 416 shotgun mic

Filters out the plosives much better than a single screen Stedman, but I had to Macgyver an extension using a curtain rod to get this thing in front of my Sennheiser 416 shotgun mic. The Stedman gooseneck is the same length, but was able to corner more tightly to get in front, this unit is bulkier, heavier, harder to angle around the longer shotgun unless you mount it on a separate mic stand .

Functions well, but...

The product works fine. The size is good, the snake seems to stay in place, and the adjustable anchor fits snugly. The finish of the screen itself, though, looks like someone was not paying attention to detail. Pieces of the screen fabric needed to be trimmed off, and the frame has some areas that look inconsistent -- dull in some areas, shiny in others. Dissapointing. I would not recommend this, as it doesn't meet a higher standard that I've come to expect, compared to all the other excellent gear I've received from Sweetwater.

Meh...

I bought the pop filter to keep my hard consonants from killing speakers. It does that. However, it doesn't quite stay where I need it to stay as the bendable arm feels cheap. It's supposed to be one of those memory position things, but instead only wants to stay in one position. That one position the arm wishes to remain is not one beneficial to the effective use of the pop filter on my condenser mic.

Not satisfied

I think maybe it does its job, but does not look good. The clamp isn't painted as the rest of the stuff and the mesh of one face of the screen seems to be stuck by a child in school. It looks like this pop filter had been in use for a long time...
In addition, the arm is not ductile enough. It acts like a spring and is sometimes very difficult to put into the desired position.

Our Customers Say...

My Sales Engineer is the best. If I need it tomorrow, I have it tomorrow. He makes sure everything is in order and that I'm set up right. I've spent a lot of money at other places, too, but I don't remember them calling me to make sure everything's okay.
