A multi-purpose tool every studio needs! The MA-201 fet is a FET-based counterpart to its tube-powered brother, the MA-200. It's a more affordable alternative that still manages to capture warm, full-bodied sound when used on a variety of sound sources. The MA-201 fet incorporates a 3-micron gold-sputtered capsule, a high-quality Jensen audio transformer, military-grade FET, and custom designed low-noise resistors for performance that rivals some of the most popular classic condenser mics from the past. Mojave Audio MA-201 fet at a Glance: Solid-state version of the MA-200 Technical aspects Recommended applications Solid-state version of the MA-200 The MA-201 fet is a large diaphragm, phantom-powered, solid-state condenser microphone with a fixed cardioid pattern. With its roots in a lineage of microphone designs by David Royer, the MA-201 fet gives warm, full-bodied reproductions of vocals and instruments, with none of the shrillness and high frequency distortion artifacts that are often encountered with modern condenser microphones. Technical aspects Utilizing a 3-micron gold-sputtered capsule, high-quality Jensen audio transformer, military-grade FET and custom designed low-noise resistors, the MA-201 fet performs at a level reminiscent of some of the best loved classic condenser microphones.
