Customer Reviewsfrom Acton, MA June 4, 2011Music Background: Producer, audio engineer, composer, drummer. MA-100 redefines the go- to snare drum micThe venerable Shure SM 57 perhaps will always have a place in the pantheon of great snare drum mics, but I was completely unprepared for the sonic delivery provided by the Mojave MA-100. In some ways the analogy of saying the SM57 is a great movie in 2D whereas the MA100 is the 3D version would not be too much of a stretch. The presence, depth, clarity and Punch was startling, and oh so satisfying. Perhaps a new paradigm? Check it out for yourself, you'll have reason to rejoice having another great choice in a snare drum mic. Wow.from Washington, DC USA September 7, 2010Music Background: Student Great sounding micI love this thing. It has the best snare sound. Get rid of your 57s and put this guy on snare and be amazed at the body and balance your high hat and snare will receive. Also works great on acoustic guitar. This weekend I put a Neumann M 147 on the body and this guy on the neck, and WOW! Best guitar sound I have ever heard.inSync Review

It doesn't matter what you put the MA-100 on, it sounds great, and from the first time you open the sleek silver case, you'll realize that the investment that you've made in the microphone will pay for itself over and over again.
As an avid recording engineer, I can't count on my fingers and toes how many times I've turned to this microphone in a pinch. If you want to immediately upgrade your mic locker and add an amazing amount of versatility, this is the one for you! The MA-100 comes with military grade JAN 5840 tubes that are hand selected, Jensen audio transformers, and also boasts interchangeable cardioid and omnidirectional capsules. Mojave Audio's designer David Royer has a reputation for making some of the best mics in the industry, and not only do they sound amazing, but they look great too. Throughout the years I've used the MA-100 on acoustic guitar, piano, guitar amps, violin, and even steel pan drums, just to name a few. This mic instantly makes any recording sound nice and smooth, without coloring the sound so much that it loses its own characteristics as an instrument. Whether you're a piano player, folk acoustic guitarist, or classical violinist this mic will take your recordings to the next level. This truly is a great microphone!
