The Martin M-38 Koa Special carries on the tradition of the prized M-38 Grand Auditorium Model - giving it a unique and beautiful look, with a flamed Hawaiian Koa back and sides. This body style combines the Martin "0000" shape with the "000" body depth for particularly balanced tone, enhanced by the solid Sitka spruce top. Along the black ebony fingerboard, the Martin M-38 Koa Special features a striking Style "45" snowflake inlay pattern. There is also a black ebony bridge featured on Martin's M-38 Koa Special.

That's because it derives its exceptional sound through a strong-voiced solid Sitka spruce top and an all-Hawaiian Koa body, which is beautifully flamed. Other appointments on the M-38 Koa Special include a solid black ebony fingerboard and bridge, grained ivoroid binding, a bone nut, and a select hardwood neck. Martin also gave the M-38 Koa Special their Style "45" snowflake inlay pattern as well as high-quality gold hardware with large buttons.
