And, with string height lower at the nut, these guitars will also play even easier and intonate better all the way up the neck. Quality construction
All Modern Classic guitars are handcrafted by Gibson in Bozeman, MT, from premium tonewoods and components. Thanks to its smaller size and these select tonewoods, The Gibson's CJ-165 EC Rosewood Modern Classic gives you balanced, bright tone. Its solid Sitka spruce top features specially designed 1930s-style wide-scalloped X-bracing, which gives the CJ-165 EC Rosewood Modern Classic great clarity and projection for a small-bodied guitar. The rosewood back and sides also contribute to the full sound, and a sloping single cutaway gives you access to the entire ebony fingerboard, which tops a mahogany neck. Classy mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays adorn the neck, and the body is bound with a four-ply Sitka spruce top and single-play Indian rosewood back and sides. A premium V-profiled Mahogany neck with an Indian rosewood fingerboard and distinctive mother of pearl inlays all help set the CJ-165 EC Rosewood Modern Classic apart from the rest. Gibson added Grover Rotomatic tuners and top-of-the-line Fishman pickups ensuring that the CJ-165 EC Rosewood Modern Classic will sound great when you're playing out live!

Natural-sounding electronics
Equipped with the revolutionary Fishman Ellipse Aura system, the CJ-165 EC Rosewood Modern Classic allows acoustic musicians to easily and precisely reproduce the sound of an acoustic guitar as if it miked in a professional studio. The Fishman Ellipse Aura system was programmed to conjure studio sounds with Class A mic pres and a mix of vintage and modern microphones to create Aura Acoustic images that complement the specific tone qualities of the CJ-165 EC Rosewood Modern Classic.

Gibson's SJ-200 guitars were originally built to cut through the loudest acoustic ensembles, allowing them to compete with the mandolins and banjos that were prevalent in "pre-amplified" times.
