Gibson Tribute To Les Paul

From Our Research Team:

The Legend Lives On!

The Gibson Tribute To Les Paul solidbody electric guitar pays homage to the life and legacy of Lester William Polsfuss, with a beautifully wrought 1952 Les Paul model. From its pair of dynamically expressive P-90 pickups to a trapeze tailpiece that perfectly matches Les Paul's own 1952 patent, this Tribute To Les Paul guitar gives you a spot-on replica of the same production run instrument Ted McCarty first placed in this notorious jazzer's hands. Top it off with a signature pickguard and some excellent case candy, and there's no doubt that this limited-edition Gibson Tribute To Les Paul is a real collector's piece.

Gibson Tribute To Les Paul Limited-edition Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • More than a guitar, it's a piece of guitar-making history
  • Gibson's 1952 solidbody electric guitar through and through
  • Killer case candy adds to the collector value of this limited-edition axe

More than a guitar, it's a piece of guitar-making history
By the time Gibson president Ted McCarty enlisted the assistance of Les Paul, the noted jazz guitarist was already a widely respected inventor. The partnership proved to be a prefect match, and you can see that at work in the Tribute To Les Paul guitar. To McCarty's brilliantly designed set neck and pitched headstock, Les Paul added a specially engineered wraparound trapeze tailpiece of his own innovation. True to his own love of flashiness, Les Paul also adorned his namesake guitar's maple top with a paint of metallic gold, creating the iconic Gold Top look that springs to life on the Tribute To Les Paul.

Gibson's 1952 solidbody electric guitar through and through
Gold Top cosmetics and the aforementioned '52 trapeze tailpiece aren't the only authentic touches Gibson gave the Tribute To Les Paul guitar. The electronics, too, are as close as it gets to 1952 stock. That's because the Tribute To Les Paul sports not just a pair of period P-90 single-coil pickups, but also original Orange Drop capacitors for that smooth early Les Paul sound. This authenticity also extends to the feel of the Tribute To Les Paul guitar. Forget about weight-relief chambering - this axe is totally solid, giving you the sustain legends are based on, and the Tribute To Les Paul's chunky early '50s neck completes the picture.

Killer case candy adds to the collector value of this limited-edition axe
As if the beauty and authenticity weren't enough to make this limited-run Tribute To Les Paul collectable, not to mention extremely cool, Gibson also loaded it with killer bonuses. With the Tribute To Les Paul, you get a Gibson factory craftsman shirt and jacket, plus a Les Paul book and certificate of authenticity signed by Russ Paul, Les Paul's heir. Added to the cool laser-etched photo on the Tribute To Les Paul's headstock, its signed pickguard, and its limited world-wide production run of only 400 pieces, and there's no doubt about the collectability of the Tribute To Les Paul.

Gibson Tribute To Les Paul Limited-edition Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
