Toneful mahogany body with pain-saving weight relief The classic Les Paul recipe of a mahogany body topped with maple (AA figured maple in fact!) is here in the Les Paul Signature T. What you won't find is the shoulder-straining weight of '60s originals. That's because Gibson applied their traditional weight relief to this LP, which lightens the load so you can easily gig all night. It's still got a little heft to it, and the sustain is everything you'd expect from a Les Paul, so only your back will know the difference. '60s SlimTaper neck profile plays fast and smooth The Gibson Les Paul Signature T sports a comfortable, fast-action neck with a '60s SlimTaper profile. Early Gibson guitars had huge, often ungainly necks. By 1960, Gibson had gradually carved down this profile into what became their SlimTaper neck. As your fingers move down this neck, the precisely controlled width-to-thickness ratio of the Les Paul Signature T's SlimTaper neck provides you with a consistent, fast, and comfortable feel. It's no wonder many life-long guitar players consider the SlimTaper Gibson's finest neck. Nail countless vintage electric guitar tones with '57 Classic humbuckers Open-coil '57 Classic humbuckers give the Les Paul Signature T the power, punch, and clarity of Gibson's legendary PAF pickups. And because the Les Paul Signature T also sports push/pull coil splitting, you'll have access to an amazing array of single-coil tones too. You get a great bang for your buck with this guitar. I just recently bought it to go with my fulltone ocd and my fender blues jr. When i went to play it, i was absoloutely blown away by the sounds! You get a whole different arena of sounds due to those knobs. As far as looks go, you can't go wrong. The flame top on mine is absoloutely beautiful and it looks just like a classic Gibson Les Paul. The only thing that almost turned me away was that the fretboard wasn't rosewood. Instead, it was grenadillo (Sweetwater says rosewood but its not). I was a bit concerned but after playing it, there is really no difference and quite possibly is better than rosewood. Overall, a great guitar, but i would suggest playing before buying close [-]
