From Our Research Team:A Little Bit Country, a Little Bit Rock 'n' RollGibson equipped the LPJ B-Bender solidbody electric guitar with the Joe Glaser B-Bender system to give you instant access to pedal-steel-style guitar tones. Long story short, the LPJ B-Bender lets you bend your B-string up a full step just by pulling on the neck while you're wearing a guitar strap. You get an instant country sound, backed up by the sweet tone of dual P-90 humbuckers (with coil tapping) that will make your guitar amplifier sing. For undeniable Nashville vibe, just strap on the Gibson LPJ B-Bender solidbody electric guitar.Gibson LPJ B-Bender Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
Unbeatable country twang from the adjustable B-/G-Bender system Loaded with the Joe Glaser B-Bender system, the LPJ B-Bender is perfect for re-creating the smooth bends of a pedal steel guitar in a solidbody instrument. Even better, the adjustable bridge lets you choose between B-bending and G-bending, depending on your style and tastes. If you're interested in having Sweetwater's expert guitar techs set up your LPJ B-Bender for G-bending before we send it to you, just give your Sales Engineer a call! Incredible tonal range from split-coil P-90 Soapbar pickups The Gibson LPJ B-Bender is fitted with two split-coil P-90 Soapbar humbucking pickups, with push/pull coil taps on the volume knobs to switch between humbucking and single-coil operation. Gibson's first successful single-coil pickup, the P-90 can be heard on countless classic recordings. With its biting treble and high output, the P-90 cleans up nicely when you roll back your guitar's volume pot. And when you hit your amp hard, the P-90 really wails. It's an amazingly versatile pickup, perfect for rock, country, blues, or virtually any genre. '60s Slim-Taper neck profile plays fast and smooth This LPJ B-Bender sports a comfortable, fast-action neck with a '60s Slim-Taper profile. Early Gibson guitars had huge, often ungainly necks. By 1960, Gibson had gradually carved down this profile into what became their Slim-Taper neck. As your fingers moved down this neck, the precisely controlled width-to-thickness ratio of the LPJ B-Bender's Slim-Taper neck provides you with a consistent, fast, and comfortable feel. It's no wonder many life-long guitar players consider the Slim-Taper Gibson's finest neck. Gibson LPJ B-Bender Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

I was very surprised to spot this guitar at my local store. I wouldn't have imagined Gibson releasing such a guitar. To me, a Les Paul with such appointements (ash body, "tele" shaped pickguard, maple... read more [+] neck and fretboard, black dot inlays, b bender) was more relevant from a luthier's custom order than Gibson. I love my Gibson and Fender guitars so the idea of owning a mix of both worlds got me gassing about this beauty.February 27, 2013 Music Background: Hobbyist Musician. I (try ;o) to teach guitar to my workmates and love to play with my band whenever I get chance. I have to say that I never played a b bender before I tried out this guitar and I have to admit it's fun. You won't trigger it by accident as you really need to push on the neck (spring tension is adjustable and so is the bending action: half a step to at least one full step which is the default setting). The P90 sound really good and the split on the bridge P90 can act like a boost depending on how you set your amp: nice! The neck is very comfy although I would have preferred a thicker heel - just like my '79 LP Special 55 RI. Since the heel does not meet the top of the body back, you feel the rough angleof the back with your hand when you play on the hi frets. I will get use to it... The wood grain is superb (3 piece body with a one piece table top to enable fitting of the Glaser bender mechanism I assume) and the satin finish very thin. I assume this makes the guitar "breathe" but it may wear out a bit faster than typical gloss finish? Not really a problem as I love the look of worn out Teles. The case is specific to this model: brown molded with no Gibson USA inscription on it which I prefer. Instead you get a sort of tooled leather finish that's really cool. The guitar came with a Gibson owner manual (no mention of this model nor the b-bender...), a truss rod key, strap locks and the QA checklist. I think I'm missing a documentation on how to set the b-bender device unless Gibson think it's easy to guess? A really cool and affordable guitar that stands out from the crowded market. You can play anything on this guitar, it really sings and is absolutely not restricted to country players. close [-] Gibson LPJ B-Bender

This is a super example of a Les Paul Jr. that sounds and "breathes" differently from other Les Pauls I play. Very snappy, responsive sound, like a Telecaster, but with more growl from the P-90s (whi... read more [+]ch happen to be tapped for more tonal options). The fretboard can get dirty quickly, but that's the nature of this kind of board. Comes with a very cool case that's Western-themed (another Gibson departure)April 3, 2013 Music Background: Pro Musician The cons of this purchase (and have been told this is temporary) is no instructions for changing the b-bender to a G-bender. Eventually a video will be present to allow changes and get to some G-bending fun. I gave it four stars: not for the quality of the guitar, or the stellar service and price given to me, as well as fast shipping by Sweetwater: it's that Gibson has no direction for this user to change the B to G-bender as advertised in its promotion close [-] Also popular
