The best guitar a player could ever have.

I purchased this guitar in March of 2007 and was immediately blown away by its style and look. I had to travel a great distance to pick it up but when the store manager opened the case, well there are no words. When I played it, it just sounded so beautiful, there is no other guitar that can come near. The fret board and the action is just right and the sound is like no other. I love this guitar and so do all my friends. Thanks Gibson for making such a masterpiece.

Absolutely Impeccable

I purchased this Guitar in the Translucent Amber finish from Sweetwater in October of 2008 and the Guitar is everything you would expect from a Gibson. Incredible Craftsmanship is obvious the moment you remove it from its case. The action on a Les Paul Supreme is awesome to say the least. The tones are Amazing, Pure and down right phenomenal. The cool thing about purchasing a product of this quality from Sweetwater is the sales tax i didnt have to pay, the checklist completed by the Staff that insured me the Guitar was ready to play without having to bother with any additional adjustments. Ryan Sloan was great to work with as well. But the best thing about buying from Sweetwater is they included a couple pieces of candy with my order. LOL. :o) I would buy from Sweetwater again.

Les Paul Supreme

To start, the finish was not even dry yet. At least I knew I was getting a guitar that had not been sitting. The setup was the best Gibson ever sent out their USA doors. I would expect that from the custom shop. The sound is about what you would expect from the specs. It is a great second guitar because the chords sound so amazing. In short, you do not want to turn this baby into a super hot-fast lead guitar. It is way smarter to leave it as it is. Changing to a lighter string would ruin the great tone provided by the chambers--they are very obvious--the guitar is loud and spot-on. Any mods would no doubt take away the great clean and fantastic tone. I must admit, for a USA, it's not bad. It's not a 59, but it's not $8,000 either. I would suggest this guitar to someone who already has a fast lead guitar-I use a custom shop 57-VOS-black custom. Now that's a fast lead axe-even with the old fat neck, over time you get used to it. The neck on the Supreme is a hybrid-it's fat but not as fat as a 50s. I'm convinced that these fatter neck guitars has a great deal to do with their amazing tone. I own a few now and plan to get a another. What may be of interest is a decade ago my house was home to every strat out there. I went back to my roots and have been chasing the Beano/Clapton tone and getting close. That could explain why I expect my next Paul to be a 59. In sum, the Supreme is well made and has the materials of a custom shop product. It does have limitations but so what. I'd love to have a guy backing me on a Supreme because its tone is true Gibson, perhaps better than usual, but it's not a 335 or something fast out of the box. Moding it would ruin its great sound-so it is a great guitar for the right guy. It sure sounds better than any new Fender. And the finish is cool, but I don't buy guitars for the finish. It's a keeper.
