Gibson Les Paul Studio (Wine Red) ReviewsSweetwater Advice
Brian Cravens
My first "real" Les Paul was a Studio model. You'll forego body binding and headstock inlays in exchange for a much lower price. What makes this guitar special? Carved maple top, 1959 neck profile, Alnico magnet 490R &498T humbuckers, drop dead Les Paul tone and playability. Made in USA. That's 5 for 5, and good enough reason why this should be your first Les Paul.
Customer Reviewsfrom Ohio December 11, 2011 Music Background: hobbyist Merry Christmas to meWanted a Gibson Les Paul since I started playing and finally bought one. Red Wine with Gold Hardware. I love the way it fits my hand, the sound and the look. You can play so many styles of music with a Les Paul. I have owned Fender Strats, Ibanez, Schecter but none fit me or give me the tones like a Les Paul. Was set up perfect out of the box and haven't stopped playing since. My son will be getting this guitar after I am gone....not for sale. from New Berlin,IL USA November 10, 2011 Music Background: retired semi-professional musician The name says it allI just received my wine red les paul studio and could not be happier! After letting it acclimate for a couple of hours (due to the cold), I popped open the case and stood back and took it all in. It is one gorgeous guitar. I took it into the studio and plugged it in. There's the sound I'd always heard other guitar players have. And now after all this time, I have that sound as well. It play's great and the sound is everything I could want. I played for 3 hours straight today and theres more ahead this evening. Also, the folks at Sweetwater could not have been friendlier. I got the guitar as quickly as they promised and in pristine condition. I cannot imagine having another guitar. I mean, come on, its a Les Paul. The name says it all.from Pittsfield Ma October 11, 2011 Music Background: player, producer. mix/mastering Smokin' Axegreat tone. killer action. great feel.from Eagle River, Alaska September 22, 2011 Music Background: musician The Gibson Les Paul Studio (Wine Red)My Les Paul Studio arrived and I was pleasantly surprised by the tone & playability of this guitar. It's very lightweight because of it's chambered body, and helps when playing those long jams. I prefer binding on my Les Pauls, but this guitar has grown on me significantly. The top on my Studio is incredible, hats off to Sweetwater for allowing me to choose this particular one. The deep wine red finish is incredible, and the black/chrome hardware give it a dark appearance, when the light hits it just right, it comes to life! The neck is perfect, and I find myself reaching for this guitar everyday. Even unplugged the tone is bright and clean, and I am very happy with the overall value of this instrument. Great job Gibson!from USA August 31, 2011 Music Background: Hobbyist classic Les Paul toneI've had this for about 2.5 years and it's anything but entry level. It may not be as beautiful as the Standard, but it's far from ugly and performance wise, it can hold it's own! I play this thru a Peavey Classic 30 and I can get those sweet, singing cleans, so perfect of blues or big, fat, nasty Guns N Roses like riffs. This Les Paul can do it all and with ease. It's not too heavy, it's very comfortable to hold/play and the neck profile is killer. Fit and finish is as good as my Gibson SG Standard, so I can't complain. I highly recommend the Studio to anyone craving classic Les Paul tone, studio or not!from Dayton, OH March 27, 2011 Music Background: Hobbyist, Student That Les Paul sound and playability! What's not to love? For almost half the price of a Standard you get the same quality, most of the same materials, and all of the Les Paul sound and playability! This is my first electric and after playing several other brands/types this model was the most bang for the buck in my price range.
