Customer Reviewsfrom New Braunfels March 24, 2012 Music Background: Hobbyist/Live Player Great GuitarI bought this guitar because i was on a budget. I recently bought a Gibson V and had been wanting a Les Paul for sometime, but just couldnt afford it. I happen to save some money and purchased this guitar and absolutely fell in love with it. the neck is very solid and feels great. as soon as you grab this guitar out of its gig back, you know this guitar was made in the USA. i love this guitar and look forward to purchasing anotherfrom Cleveland, OH February 6, 2012 Music Background: Sixx Stringer somewhere between Hack n Pro. What a cool guitar!Props to Sweetwater for showcasing each individual guitar so that you can pick the one you connect with. The finishes ranged from an inky black to lots of the maple grain bleeding through the stain...I chose the latter and it is one amazing guitar to not only look at but plays and sounds fantastic. I had concerns about the obeche fretboard, chambered body and chunkier 50's neck as my current LP has none of those(rosewood board, 60's slim taper neck, solid mahogany/maple cap). But after playing the guitar for a few weeks I realize that all those things combine to give this guitar a very lively/open/resonant sound. The obeche plays smoothly and looks great...like a flat black ebony. The 50's style chunky neck fits my hand perfectly and I believe contributes to the fat sound of the guitar. The Chambered body not only makes the guitar easier on the shoulder but adds to that open/lively sound and allows you to get that sweet feedback at any time you wish. Very cool! The Burstbucker Pros are a great match for this guitar as they are open and crunchy yet are not overpowering. Versatile pickups for sure...I play a sorta Metallica meets Disturbed style. As for quality I went over this guitar meticulously when it arrived from Sweetwater(super fast shipping I might add!). And could not find a blemish on it! Nice work GIbson! The action/intonation was set excellent....though I prefer it a bit higher(ham hands and all) so that was really the only adjustment I made. All in all I'm totally stoked about this guitar. Alrighty then enough typing ...I'm off to jam....from Tn January 28, 2012 Music Background: Pro Musician Great Guitar! All the LP tone you would ever want without the hefty price. Fantastic instrument!from Florida January 10, 2012 Music Background: Cover Band Guitarist Wow!!!!I've owned Gibson Standard LPs before. I'm a PRS guy, but when I saw this Ebony one at Xmastime where i was able to get a discount off of the already great price, I was sold! The great thing about Sweetwater is that you can pick the one you want from the Serial Number, which I did, and was totally satisfied. Yes the guitar cosmetically is basic, but the hardware is SUPERIOR (wish it had Grover tuners rather than the Kluson-styled ones though). This guitar was setup perfectly, and as a gigging musician in a weekend cover band, I put it to good use from day one. This guitar projected FANTASTICALLY, was comfortable to play, and gave me confidence in my sound. Well worth the money.... Stunk that they chinced on the hardcase and it came with a cheesy gigbag, but for the price, you cant' beat it!
