From Our Research Team:A Great Look On A Classic Les Paul! The Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded is a great looking variation one of the most-played guitars in the world, and it's back with a sweet Ebony Stain finish. Ever since its introduction in 1952, the Les Paul has had an impact on both guitar players and on music itself. What started out as Gibson's answer to the introduction of solid body guitars in 1950, turned out to be perhaps the most influential of them all. What started out as a simple gold-top guitar has turned into a veritable rainbow of colors, in configurations to meet everyone's needs, wants and yes, even budget. You have a Western maple top over a chambered mahogany body, a '50s neck profile with baked maple fingerboard and two screaming Burstbucker Pro humbucking pickups. The Les Paul Studio Faded is a performing guitarist's dream come true.Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded at a Glance:
Western maple top in Ebony Stain finish over a mahogany body The Gibson Les Paul has seen an array of finishes and tops over the years while maintaining the classic look and sound. This Les Paul Studio Faded features an Ebony Stain finish on the Western maple top, and a chambered mahogany body for lower weight - no more shoulder strain! LP rounded mahogany neck with Black obeche fingerboard The first Les Pauls had huge necks. This Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded has the '50s neck profile, which strikes a great balance between the classic feel of a larger neck with the faster playability of a rounded profile. Two Burstbucker Pro Humbucking Pickups Look, when you're talking about a Les Paul, you're talking about that big, fat, smoky humbucker sound. This Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded sports dual Burstbucker Pro humbucking pickups for the classic tone you crave. Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded Features:

Props to Sweetwater for showcasing each individual guitar so that you can pick the one you connect with. The finishes ranged from an inky black to lots of the maple grain bleeding through the stain..... read more [+].I chose the latter and it is one amazing guitar to not only look at but plays and sounds fantastic. I had concerns about the obeche fretboard, chambered body and chunkier 50's neck as my current LP has none of those(rosewood board, 60's slim taper neck, solid mahogany/maple cap). But after playing the guitar for a few weeks I realize that all those things combine to give this guitar a very lively/open/resonant sound. The obeche plays smoothly and looks great...like a flat black ebony. The 50's style chunky neck fits my hand perfectly and I believe contributes to the fat sound of the guitar. The Chambered body not only makes the guitar easier on the shoulder but adds to that open/lively sound and allows you to get that sweet feedback at any time you wish. Very cool! The Burstbucker Pros are a great match for this guitar as they are open and crunchy yet are not overpowering. Versatile pickups for sure...I play a sorta Metallica meets Disturbed style. As for quality I went over this guitar meticulously when it arrived from Sweetwater(super fast shipping I might add!). And could not find a blemish on it! Nice work GIbson! The action/intonation was set excellent....though I prefer it a bit higher(ham hands and all) so that was really the only adjustment I made. All in all I'm totally stoked about this guitar. Alrighty then enough typing ...I'm off to jam.... close [-]

I've owned Gibson Standard LPs before. I'm a PRS guy, but when I saw this Ebony one at Xmastime where i was able to get a discount off of the already great price, I was sold! The great thing about S... read more [+]weetwater is that you can pick the one you want from the Serial Number, which I did, and was totally satisfied. Yes the guitar cosmetically is basic, but the hardware is SUPERIOR (wish it had Grover tuners rather than the Kluson-styled ones though). This guitar was setup perfectly, and as a gigging musician in a weekend cover band, I put it to good use from day one. This guitar projected FANTASTICALLY, was comfortable to play, and gave me confidence in my sound. Well worth the money.... Stunk that they chinced on the hardcase and it came with a cheesy gigbag, but for the price, you cant' beat it! close [-]
