From Our Research Team:A Les Paul That's Far More Than Standard! You can't beat the Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus solidbody electric guitar for iconic vintage tone with uncompromising playability. You'll love the 2012 Les Paul Standard's premium features, like the "Modern" weight-relieved body that's lighter in weight but still packs ample sustain. The mahogany neck sports a '60s profile for fast and fluid fretwork, and the compound radius rosewood fretboard makes the Les Paul Standard perfect for both rhythm and lead roles. And with dual Burstbucker Pro pickups, with coil tapping to switch between humbucking and single-coil operation, you'll have all the classic guitar tone you can handle with the Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus!Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
The Les Paul recipe for sustain - mahogany body with AAA flamed maple top Gibson's Les Paul Standard Premium Plus gives you the robust sustain you need for hot liquid solos and massive power chords. What's Gibson's secret? A major part of the Les Paul's tonewood recipe is the fusion of a maple top - AAA flamed maple on the Premium Plus - on a mahogany body. This combination is largely responsible for the legendary Les Paul sound, as well the LP's reputation for being rather heavy. But fear not! Modern weight relief has been scientifically applied to the Les Paul Standard, giving you all the sustain, without the pain. '60s neck profile with compound radius fingerboard Many guitarists consider Gibson's Slim Taper neck the most playable Les Paul neck ever made. On the LP Standard Premium Plus, it's joined by a compound radius fretboard for ultimate playability. The fingerboard is rounder near the nut for easy chord-grabbing and rhythm playing. As your playing heats up and moves up the fretboard, the radius flattens out for easier runs and big, big string bends. Pickups deliver true Les Paul sound - and then some The 2012 Les Paul Standard Premium Plus features Burstbucker Pro pickups that give you everything you need for a classic humbucking sound. But there's more! The volume and tone knobs feature a push-pull configuration that allows you to choose between classic humbuckers and single coils. You can run both pickups alongside each other in or out of phase, and you can even send the bridge pickup directly to the jack output for added volume and brightness. You get classic plus modern with the 2012 Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus guitar!

Cecil, Mesquite, TX Reviewsbased on 2 reviewsgibson les paul standard premium plus left handed trans black
by c sorbin from pa
i am a new player. only 1 yr and 9 mo. however, i own a fender standard strat which i really love. i purchased the gibson les paul standard premium plus lh in trans black which looks and sounds awesom... read more [+]e. however, i actually perfer the smooth feel of the fender for slides and movement up and down the neck. :o/ also i agree with previous review about the knobs. although i didnt realize they were backwards for a left handed player, i knew i kept turning them the wrong way because i was used to the FENDER, which had them properly applied to a leftie. (the whole world is geared to right handed people) BUT, in spite of those two objections, i love the sound i get from this guitar!! i know i am relatively new at this craft, but i love playing this so much, i practice every single day for at least 1 hr. and i see fairly rapid progress. i think if a person wants to learn to play the guitar, they should commit to it by purchasing a good quality insturment and the respect for such a beautiful guitar will provide incentive to stick with it thru the crappy playing stage which EVERYONE must go thru to get to the other side of musical skill on the guitar. i love my gibson les paul standard premium plus in trans black, but i also love my fender standard strat equally. they each have their attributes. close [-]

Well` I've owned this great guitar for a couple of weeks now. The quality of the instrument is great and the burstbucker pros are turning out to be very impressive.August 16, 2012 Music Background: Hobbyist My only disappointme... read more [+]nt is the lack of fore-thought in the control orientation. It seems that Gibson in all their wisdom, has decided that it would be cheaper to use right hand control rotation on the left handed guitars ALSO! Meaning that your volume and tone controls will roll backwards. Seeing as they now use a PCB to mount their potentiometers to, you can't reverse the leads to correct this. Somewhat disappointing considering the money spent. Gibson: Please call Fender and have them help you remove your head from your ass. Fender does not make such mistakes in considering the player. Don't get me wrong....it truly is a fantastic, versatile guitar with so much more tone control then the previous models. Slightly adjusting the volume or tone control can yield many variations. close [-] Also popular
