Customer Reviewsfrom Cleveland, OH. USA April 24, 2013Music Background: Just for fun player My first GibsonThis is my first Gibson and I am glad I purchased it, great action, sound and made in the USA.from Rochester, NY March 20, 2013Music Background: Hobbyist, Punk/Metal/Hardcore Gibson Les Paul LPJ is a tone machine, a great value! If you need a guitar that can cover anything from country to metal, this one will do it. I needed a guitar that was simple, tonefull, and versatile. It did not dissapoint. Combined with my Krank, the pickups are fine for getting saturation and harmonics. Also works really well with any EL34 based-amps I have tried. Gibson did well introducing this product-it seems very solid, and has the quality you would expect for an American-made instrument.from Salt lake city, Utah February 6, 2013Music Background: Lifelong Student of Classical, Rock, Jazz, Violin... Outstanding Instrument at any price!!After playing one of these LPJ's, I was truly amazed at not only how sharp they look with the Black Hardware and genuine(also Black Knobbed), Klusons but how versatile the tone is. With the new Maple Neck addition on an Instrument widely known for its darker tone which is also attributed to the Mahogany neck and 24.75" scale length of the Les Pauls as we know them, this is an excellent idea. It may also be a way for Gibson to rid themselves of all the surplus Maple they have in stock from their "Baked Maple" instead of Indian Rosewood vs.USA Justice Dept. debacle? Very well done overall and anyone who says these are ugly definitely needs to make an appt. with their Optometrist asap...from Lake,MS February 4, 2013Music Background: 13 years, singer, songwriter CANT DESCRIBE THE QUALITY FOR THE MONEYI bought this specifically because it had the faded worn look that I wanted and the price was so much below the studio. These are the same pickups (490, 498) that are in the studio. They are VERY hot pickups. This thing is USA made with Kluson tuners and real pickups for $700 !!!!!!!!I am playing it through the Marshall DSL40C and a VOX lil' nightrain for practice. If you want to pay a whole lot more for the laquer finish Les paul's, that is great but mechanically, this guitar is the same. BART GOOD IS THE MAN AT SWEETWATER!!
