Customer Reviewsfrom St Louis, MO July 8, 2011 Music Background: Player for 40+ years Les Paul (BJ) JuniorAll of my favorites are here. Gibson, slim taper neck, rosewood, P90, wrap around bridge and mahogany top. Using a Blackstar HT-20.At low end sparkling clean and absolutely beautiful. In the middle some really sweet breakup, and on 10... Leslie West!!! It's as fun to roll down the volume as it is to roll it up on this one. from December 25, 2010 Music Background: Recording engineer/producer/artist Not half bad, and I don't even like Les PaulsI do not own this guitar, but I used a friend's at a party, and I was quite impressed. This is a guitar that takes no time getting used to; everything is very plain and simple and easy to figure out. It has one pickup, which is the entire point of the Les Paul Junior; its single P-90 pickup sounded incredible: nice and punchy, even with really old strings and plugged into a semi-cheap solid state amp. Personally, I don't like the feel of Les Pauls (I think the necks are too wide, and I wish it had a little more body contouring to make it more comfortable against my ribcage), but aside from that, I found this instrument to be a very powerful instrument. I don't know if there is any difference between the Billie Joe Armstrong LP Jr. and the regular LP Jr. (I suspect there isn't), but I found that, even though I don't like Les Pauls, I did like this instrument, and I would recommend it to any guitarist looking for a simple, straightforward, punchy rock guitar sound.
