Customer Reviewsfrom Cheyenne,WY February 27, 2012 Music Background: Pro Musician BeautifulI have been playing over 30 years. I have owned them all from the 70's LP's, Explorers, Flying V's, SG's. This guitar is a superior instrument. It arrived in perfect condition and it oozes LP tone. It covers all the basesfrom beautiful crystal cleans to old school metal. I wasn't sure about the 57 and 57+ being tough enough but they do the job nicely! The sustain on this guitar is unbeliveable. The myriad of tones is truly amazing. The setup on this is perfect. The action is nice and low, but yet you can get under the high end when you need to bend. Its just incredible. from SCRANTON, PA USA January 16, 2012 Music Background: HOBBYIST Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom (Wine Red)My first gibson,Ihave fenders tele and strats with rosewood and maple fret broads,so i have no problem with the baked maple. It was setup right out of the box. The craftsmanship is flawles. sound as good as it looks. THANKS SWEETWATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from Knoxville, TN December 29, 2011 Music Background: Played guitar for 20 years. This is my 2nd Les Paul. Feels, looks and sounds like a custom LPThis is not the most expensive guitar I have ever played but it is the BEST guitar I have ever played. I compared it to a $4,000 Custom LP at a local guitar shop. The only difference I could find was no back binding on the Classic Custom. I actually prefer the '57 pickups to what came on the Custom (490R and 490T). The Grover tuners are great and the frets feel perfect. I can't distinguish between the maple and the rosewood. Even the color of the maple is dark, much darker than the stock photos on Gibson.com.For the price you cannot buy a better guitar and the looks are fantastic. The silver hardware is gorgeous and everyone who has seen my new axe is in awe of its beauty. Extremely classy, sexy guitar. My eyes actually teared up the first time I opened the case. I look forward to playing her for many decades. Your average guitar player cannot distinguish this from a Custom Shop Gibson. The only problem I encountered was that the strings were binding/pinching at the nut. This was resolved with a $1.29 tube of fine graphite powder.
