ReviewsLow Down on the Line 6 Low Down 300
by Art from California
I purchased this amp through a friend who won it as a door prize at a local grand opening. Figures, a non-playing person winning something I needed. Anyway, my son who plays mainly Fender brand 5 stri... read more [+]ng basses, has used this amp almost exclusively since getting it. He plays in a church rock band and has MORE POWER than is needed, often having to turn down so others can hear themselves. Ease of use, effects are great and no problems what so ever. We put castors on the amp due to the weight, its heavy. Good rugged construction exterior, nice looked, A LOT OF POWER as I said. I would have liked Line 6 to offer a 2x10 or 4x10 bass combo amp, but this is the 2nd Line 6 product I've owned over the years, and have loved the amp products and would stump for them anyday. Worth the money spent. A Flextone III will likely be my next purchase. close [-]

After playing the Lowdown LD300 Pro for a few minutes, I started to play with different settings, and there's a lot of them. It has settings that you can totally change on the fly w/ a (FVB) Line 6 fo... read more [+]ot pedal system. This amp also has a studio grade compressor built in. Has EQ's at BASS, MID LOW, MID HIGH and TREBLE. Two 1/4" inputs are for passive or active electronics. There's a 15" low driver AND a high frequency horn that you can turn on or off. From earth shaking bass to cut right-through highs this amp has awesome sound. Rated at 300 watts this thing is plenty loud enough. No problem filling a small, med stage. Very solid construction. Has a XLR direct output that can train into another amp or send to the house PA. Has an mp3 player input, built-in tuner and even a headphone jack so you can practice without disturbing others. Sweet amp at an affordable price makes this a winner in my collection. close [-]

Carson McClainI have played through this and I love the sound. I can go super clean or I can fatten things up and do some very extreme things with my sound. It doesn't matter if you are a classic rock fan or a metalhead, the ease of use and sound options are the best part of this amp. Oh, and it's Loud!!!! Lots of power and features; ok sound at best

Next to a Fender Rumble, this did not sound very good at all. I tried everything, even other amps (same model). To me it was muddy, and I'm usually not too critical. The synth thing was pretty cool, but I have no technique for synth! close [-]
