Valuable and Versatile

First of all... I have to explain that I docked 1/2 a star only because I think the documentation of these plugs could be a little more in depth. If you are a young person... You might need a little more explanation of where to start with these plugs. The HLS Channel is particularly weird and unlike anything you would have seen before. The way it's controls work is bizarre and not at all intuitive (The only reason I could make heads or tales of it is that I messed with one of the Daking consoles at the local community college one time). So... Some more in depth documentation might be helpful.

In regard to sound... I give this bundle a full 5 stars. I recently used the HLS Channel on a mix project. It was a remake of a 60's Standard by a Houston band. They really wanted to get an authentic "Retro" sound. The HLS Channel did it right away. I mean it was instant. I used it on every stem and it continually imparted just the right amount of 60's butter on everything. I was blown away that it worked just as well on Drums as it did on Vocals... And everything else (Including harmonica).

With this bundle... I think you're really paying for the MPX Master Tape Plug. This seems to be the real meat of the bundle to me. It's AWESOME! The cool thing about this plug is that it can do many things. You can use it as a leveling tool or a delay. You can use it to add subtle distortion or full on Fuzz-Ball distortion. You can use it to bring out certain frequencies. And... The list goes on and on. It's great. I've had so much fun with this thing. On top of all else... The sound is spectacular. When I first heard the "Tape Delay" settings... I couldn't believe it. Then I blasted as many drum tracks through it as I could find and was blown away again. This thing is a silver bullet for drums.

The Pie Compressor is what it is. It sounds great in it's own way on many things. It's a great compliment to this bundle.

This bundle is not essential. It won't make you or break you. However... If you have all the "Must Haves"... This bundle is a great addition to any collection. And... If you're doing Lo-Fi Rock, Punk, Rockabilly, or Honky Tonk stuff... These plugs will serve you well.
