M-Audio heard the clamor and delivered the killer Keystation Pro 88, an 88-key hammer-action USB powered MIDI controller with features that make it the most comprehensive and competitive product of its kind!

M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 at a Glance:
  • Full 88-key weighted action keyboard, only 47 lb!
  • A ton of MIDI controllers to run your soft synths
  • Incredibly flexible and easy to configure
  • Organ players, these faders work the way drawbars should!

Full 88-key weighted action keyboard, only 47 lb!
Regardless of whether you're a seasoned pro or just ready to take your music to the next level, the Keystation Pro 88's hammer action keys are so expressive that you just won't want to stop playing! It could easily become your sole keyboard in the studio or onstage. Yet the Keystation Pro 88 weighs only 47 lb. That's half the weight of most weighted-action keyboards!

A ton of MIDI controllers to run your soft synths
The Keystation Pro 88 offers 59 (!) assignable controls that deliver more than enough tactile command over your favorite soft synths and digital audio sequencers like Reason and Live. It unifies everything you need to experience the full potential of your virtual studio. With nine ultra-smooth Alps faders, 22 rotary controllers and 22 buttons - all MIDI assignable - you might never have to shuffle back and forth between your Keystation Pro and your computer.

The Keystation Pro 88 also delivers a pitch wheel, and a modulation wheel, plus sustain pedal and controller pedal inputs that are all fully assignable as well. 10 memory locations store your controller settings, and the included Enigma editor provides unlimited storage.

Incredibly flexible and easy to configure
Setting up knob and fader assignments on the Keystation Pro 88 couldn't be easier. Turn a knob or slide a fader, hit Control Assign and type in a controller number. Mapping controls to specific MIDI channels is just as straightforward. With four zones for setting up layers and splits plus multiple dynamic velocity curves, the Keystation Pro 88 can handle your studio or live performances with ease!

Organ players, these faders work the way drawbars should!
If you've ever tried to tweak a virtual tonewheel organ with a traditional fader box, you know how awkward it feels to "push" a fader instead of "pulling" a drawbar. The Keystation Pro 88 solves that problem with switchable-polarity faders. So when you pull any of the nine faders toward you, the drawbar level increases!

M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 Features:
  • 88-key hammer-action, velocity-sensitive keyboard
  • Powered via USB bus (cable included) or optional 9V power supply
  • 24 MIDI-assignable rotary controllers
  • 22 MIDI-assignable buttons
  • 9 MIDI-assignable Alps faders

  • MIDI In port
  • MIDI Out port can drive external MIDI gear or be used as USB to MIDI Out interface

The first time I tried out this keyboard, I was instantly sold. I love the keybed feel and response. As a MIDI controller, no other keyboard in this price range can give you this much versatility. All in all, the Keystation Pro 88 is an outstanding value for the money!

Best bang for the buck

I bought this at guitarcenter with a lot of reservations, after being unsatisfied with all the digital pianos under 1000 bucks. I was planning to hook this up with a soft synth (east west PLAY Gold) w... read more [+]hich has a high quality sampled Steinway.

And when I hooked this up it was up an running in no time. And I was blown away by the sensitivity (Note I am not a professional piano player). I have tried several real pianos and thought that the action in this was not so bad. The latency was almost non-noticeable (about 5m sthanks to my high quality soundcard) and it was 1000 times better than the digital pianos that sell for 1000 bucks. The velocity response is not as bad as others have pointed out. There are like 9 presents and I am sure one of them will be at least okay.

It is true there are shortcomings as others have noted. The finish of this looks a bit cheap. The keys make a light rubbery noise (which you wont hear if you have head phones but if your gf is sleeping in the same room she wont like it!!) The entire bottom is made of cardboard, yes thats true. The color could have been different. BUT the keys feel good under my hands.
And anyways,I paid 350 bucks for this!
I would have given this a 4 but the quality/price ratio pushed this to 5. close [-]

The reason i bought this is cause i had seen so many on stage musicians using this playing it like they had no issues. It was these bad reviews that threw me all off not to buy it
it Had been... read more [+] 2 years already and i seen one more person using this keyboard live on tv and i noticed. it seems that only sweetwater customers have problems with it then i got the board my self man stop tripping all these wack midi controllers out i have the cme uf 76 and i feels great i use this one and with a little programming works to perfection the keys may feel lame and i agree on that but all this whinning about playing i think thats on you ive learn to cope with the lame key feel in 4 days and i have made some crazy tracks with it nothing stopped my flow on production at all i think most 85 percent of the people on sweetwater that complain about what they buy.... A. dont know how to use it B.not making money making music.
and C.dont make good music
So cut the Crap the Keyboard is great just as many other....... ive seen people make music with the most stupidest things and the music turns out great, people been making great music for years with lesser keys on a keyboard and horrible reaction stop complaining music has never been so easy dont blame your productions skills on the keyboard

Great midi controller

by Andy H. from Parkersburg, WV

I am not a piano player, but I wanted a good midi controller so I could put virtual instruments on my songs. I also wanted it to feel like a real piano so that when other artists came to record there ... read more [+]wouldn't be any 'getting used to the feel' stuff going on. The hammer action is great for piano players. I always ask them how they liked the feel of it and haven't heard a complaint yet. The only problem is the hammer action is kinda weird when you are playing drum samples on it. I was having trouble keeping time. I was used to a regular cheap keyboard with zero weight to the keys. This thing is a breeze to set up. lay it on a table and plug it into a usb port...thats it. Works with pro tools, sample tank, structure and xpand. It gets its power from USB too. Having 88 keys is cool as well for some of the piano players who are used to having those extra keys. close [-]

Our Customers Say...

My Sales Engineer is the best. If I need it tomorrow, I have it tomorrow. He makes sure everything is in order and that I'm set up right. I've spent a lot of money at other places, too, but I don't remember them calling me to make sure everything's okay.
