The KSM44
One of the finest microphones we've encountered, the KSM44 bears a very strong resemblance to the exceedingly popular KSM32 in quality performance. This studio condenser mic is virtually free of crossover distortion and brings improved linearity across its entire operating range. Sound reproduction is extremely accurate and clear. It's housed in a zinc die-cast for a long life.
extended frequency response of 20 Hz - 20 kHz
multi-pattern dual large diaphragm condenser microphone
transformerless preamplifier circuitry
dual one-inch, gold-layered, Mylar diaphragms provide added low frequency response, while improving environmental stability
the diaphragms' extra-thin (2.5 micrometers) design accurately reproduces any sound source, while achieving an extremely low self-noise of 7dB.
champagne-colored finish graces the exterior of the KSM44's durable zinc die-cast housing

"This is a great multi-purpose mic. The KSM44 is neutral and natural. Great for vocals and acoustic instruments, it's perfect for the studio using one mic for everything. Equally nice for the pro studio expanding their mic selection. "
