Customer Reviewsfrom Brookfield, WI May 29, 2012Music Background: Recording and Live Sound Engineer The versatile little Shure KSM137This is my third purchase of pairs of Shure KSM137s. By far the most versatile mic I've ever owned. It's great for extreme X-Y recording, and the new bracket is amazing. And separately, I use them for just about everything: violins, violas, acoustic guitar, percussion, harp, xylophone, vibes and marimba, congas, overheads and hihat. With the wide frequency and dynamic range, they can do just about anything, with no distortion and a crisp clean high end. I do a lot of live and studio work. On a club gig, they didn't have a suitable kick drum mic. I gave it a try. The subwoofers really got a workout. I even use it with a good windscreen for voiceover work. With the 137's tight pattern, it gets the job done when in a less than ideal studio atmosphere. |
