Studio-quality Control at Your Feet

Bring clarity and control into your bass tone with the Keeley Bassist Compressor guitar effects pedal. Designed specifically to handle big bass signals, the Bassist Compressor uses accurate VCA-style compression to give you the ultimate control over your sound. Sweetwater's bassists agree, this pedal is as versatile as they come. You can use it as a limiter to protect your amp and speakers from distortion when you dig in during a solo, as an effect for extra punch during a song, or turn back the compression and use it as a boost. And with special attention paid to bandwidth and noise, the Keeley Bassist Compressor gives you studio-quality compression without the expense and hassle of outboard rack gear.

Keeley Bassist Compressor Guitar Effects Pedal Features:
  • Accurate VCA compression in a simple pedal format
  • Compression, Threshold, and Gain control to dial in just the right sound
Keeley's Bassist Compressor is studio grade compression at your feet!

The best bass compressor...

I was running a GK 500w 2x12 with a different compressor (Xotic) that was not giving the articulation i wanted at higher gain settings along with an audible "hiss"...problem solved..this pedal retains my fingerstyle definition without too much "squash", is completely silent in the pedal chain, is fairly transparent, and can add a nice signal boost. It took a minute to figure out not having a "blend" knob, but with this gem one is not necessary at all...at minimum setting it retains all the pick or finger nuances you could ever want, or you can crush down on the compression and run it into a distortion pedal with no loss of clarity...simply the best...

My First Pedal

It's a compressor pedal, a rather mysterious thing but I think it's doing for me what I was hoping for. The controls are simpler compared to other compressor pedals and I like that a lot. Customer service from the Keeley folks has been great too. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Keeley Bassist Limiting Amplifier

I had a MXR Compression Pedal and it worked very well. However, it turned up missing one day. I really didn't want to pay another $ for this compressor and in looking over reviews of various compression pedals I took a chance on the Keeley Bassist. I'm glad I did. It works very well for me. It gives you a lot of control over the compression , attack, and gain of your bass signal. For me, and I realize everyone is different, I set the compression knob at 4:2. The threshold at -22, and the gain at just past O. Looking at the knobs left to right, it is about 1 o'clock, 11 o'clock, and noon. I am impressed with the pedal.

Very subtle

I'm primarily a guitar player, but also play bass. I bought this to use in our band to help the bass sound more defined and to balance out the playing styles since three of us switch up bass duties and have different attacks. Overall, this doesn't change your sound, unless you use a high compression, and just refines what you are doing. I'm glad I grabbed this.

I use it more as a limiter.

It sits at the front of my signal chain just before the SansAmp. I use mine as a limiter rather than full time compression. Most everything I do goes direct to the PA. This device helps me deliver the best sound I can to the board. A keeper.
