From Our Research Team:Studio-grade Compression in a StompboxThe Keeley Electronics 4 Knob Compressor rocks. Compression has long been a studio and stage essential for pro guitarists, and Robert Keeley is making some of the best-sounding compressors on the market. What's his secret? Robert uses only the highest-quality components, resulting in a stompbox that preserves your guitar's natural tone, while juicing clarity and balancing out the strings. With the 4 Knob, you're getting studio-grade compression in a stompbox form factor. If you like your guitar sound up front and transparent, you need the Keeley 4 Knob Compressor in your rig.Keeley Electronics 4 Knob Compressor Guitar Compression Pedal at a Glance:
Great-sounding compression - without the noise The Keeley 4 Knob Compressor makes your guitar sound great, without introducing noise into the signal. You also get the controls to shape your sound exactly the way you want it. The 4 Knob Compressor is a pedal you'll never want to be caught without. Whether onstage or in the studio, you'll come to rely on the Keeley 4 Knob Compressor as an essential component of your guitar sound. Weapons-grade build quality Keeley's 4 Knob Compressor may be small, but it's packed with ultra-high-grade components. Guitar pedal guru Robert Keeley wouldn't have it any other way. You see, Robert knows that metal film resistors and capacitors translate into ultra-clean operaton. In his quest for the absolute sound, he even hand matches transistors to less than one percent tolerance. With its weapons-grade build quality, you can also rest assured that your Keeley 4 Knob Compressor will stand up to road abuse and give you many years of great sound and trouble-free operation. Four knobs = iron-fisted control The Keeley 4 Knob Compressor gives you iron-fisted control over you guitar sound. The Sustain knob lets you dial in the exact amount of compression you want. The Level knob is your output control. With minimal sustain and lots of level, you essentially have a clean boost. The "4 Knob" is a deluxe model featuring two additional knobs not found on the standard (and otherwise identical) Keeley Compressor. Attack lets you shape the front of your notes - the ictus. Turning this clockwise will preserve and emphasize your pick attack by starting to squeeze the signal later. Combining different settings of the 4 Knob's controls gives you a near-infinite amount of dynamics control over your guitar sound. My first amp had a build in compressor and few after market models compared to it I'm pretty demanding and look for a high fidelity sound even when playing rock similar to David Gilmour. I can't say enough good things about the sound quality of my Keeley 4 Knob. I bought mine about 5-6 years ago from Keeley (blue housing) and I wanted to give Keeley their due. I was in search of something to help with my exuberant flares I tend to get into while playing. I would play a tasteful solo, at an adequate volume, and then get so excited, throw it into high gear, ... read more [+]and blow the rest of the band away, volume-wise. I try to keep it under control, but sometimes it feels so good!May 19, 2013 Music Background: Part time musician I was turned onto trying a compressor from a friend, and after extensive research, decided that this was the pedal, despite its price tag. When I got it, I plugged it in at home, and found it was very helpful to my tone, my "excitement" volume levels, and it held sustain very nicely. But I still wasn't confident the pedal was worth the dough I threw down. The best test was playing it live, with my band. I was blown away at how nicely it complemented my guitar's natural tone, along with keeping my volume under control. My girlfriend asked after the show what it did, so don't expect a lot of positive feedback from listeners, but it is VERY distinguishable, from the player's point of view, to what it does for sound. I also played it with an acoustic guitar to find similar and enjoyable results. Playing softly brings those notes to the front as well. Definitely worth it. close [-] Awesome Pedal

Start with all 4 knobs at 12:00 and very slowly start turning counter-clockwise until you find your tone. It took about an hour to dial it in, but once I found the sweet spot it was nothing short of amazing- It stays on all the time now and I couldn't be happier with my tone. close [-]
