Great sounds using the Fantom processor Roland's Fantom series is a grand-slam hit around the globe. The Fantom's high-quality sound engine is a key factor in its success. The JUNO-G shares the same processor as the Fantom-G, and thus delivers the finest sound quality on the market — including an 88-note multisampled grand piano, and a wide range of sounds that span from classical to cutting-edge. You can further expand your JUNO-G with one of Roland's SRX expansion boards (optional). Audio/MIDI recorder equipped For songwriters and performers, the JUNO-G's16-part MIDI sequencer is a must. Clear interface makes operation a breeze For an instrument packed with so many features, the JUNO-G offers unprecedented ease of use. The aforementioned mixer and transport controls are only part of the friendly "hands-on" work surface. It has clearly labeled buttons, six knobs to modify sounds, five sliders for the audio section, a data wheel, a D Beam, and a pitch/mod lever. In the center of it all is the largest backlit LCD of any synth in this price range. USB computer connection for use in DAWs The beauty of the JUNO-G is that it can be used to by itself create complete songs from start to finish, but for those who want to take it one step further and incorporate a computer into the setup, the JUNO-G can be linked to a PC or Mac via its USB port. All MIDI communications can be handled over USB, which can also be used to send and receive WAV/AIF files and patch data. As an extra computer-related bonus, Roland ships every new JUNO-G with a copy of Cakewalk's SONAR LE software for PC. Roland JUNO-G Synthesizer Features:

I've been using my Juno G now for about a month and I really am impressed with how much was packed into such an inexpensive, small device. Over-all the sounds are great. I barely had to open the manua... read more [+]l at all to figure things out. The front panel is very easy to figure out since it has so many *dedicated* buttons and sliders. Unlike the cryptic layout of some boards where one button performs 100 different things depending on what's on the screen.September 4, 2008 Music Background: Musician, Recording, Production Drums a rich and realistic, synths are fat, strings could be a little better, guitars a smooth, horns a bit harsh but i'm not a fan of horns in general. I have the board go direct out to a pair of m-audio monitors and it sounds great. mixdown to a digital aif or wav internally then plug in via usb to move the file to your computer to burn to cd how could that be easier???? played the CD in my car and it rivals store bought cd quality just be sure to use the mastering effects to make sure you get a smooth finished product. only thing I have yet to figure out is how to record my guitar *WITH* the effects recorded seems when i put distortion on and then click record the effects drop out. I'm sure I'll figure it out. If you're tight on space this is the board for you it does so much that would take up so much space and the price can't be beat! close [-] Sweet Synth at a GREAT price
by JMR from Des Moines, IA
This is a great synth. I've owned it for about a month now. Sounds like a Fantom, but doesn't cost as much. Four track analog audio recording, effects processors, over 1000 built in presets, analog... read more [+] knobs for manipulating various patch settings, and on-screen manipulation for deeper settings. Solid arpeggiator and rhythm kits. Decent sequencer and sampler. You just can't beat this thing for the price. Make sure to buy the memory upgrade and PC Card for long term storage though (costs about $100 more for the max upgrade). Without those the audio recorder isn't much more than a demonstration of how the synth would work if you could record enough to make it useful. Roland hit a home run with this system. Roland's had a few years of hit-and-miss synths recently, but this synth is definitely a hit. I wouldn't trade it for anything right now. close [-]
