The Fender Jazzmaster is an icon. By the late '50s, Leo Fender had some new tricks up his sleeve, and a number of design refinements were infused into the Jazzmaster when it was introduced as an upscale alternative to the Strat^® and Tele^® in 1958. One of these innovations was the radical (but amazingly comfortable) contoured offset-waist body - which is exploited to the max in the Select Carved Maple Top Jazzmaster HH. Fender's given this axe a gorgeous carved flame maple top which not only looks incredible, but imbues the guitar with delightful snap and impressive sustain. It also raises the "playing field" slightly, which gives you freer picking access to the strings.

Channel-bound? What does this mean? In the Select Carved Maple Top Jazzmaster HH, Fender has actually inlaid a compound-radius rosewood fingerboard into the guitar's thick C-shaped neck, so the perimeter of the neck itself is the actual binding. It's a novel and innovative approach that creates a unique, stylish look, while giving you an uber-comfortable, buttery fretting-hand feel with delightfully rounded edges and no side seam between neck and fingerboard.
