It's re... read more [+]al comfy to hold and play. The humbuckers are smooth and sweet but can be cranked pretty wild if that is your thing. I play it thru a Fender G-dec 30 or my Deluxe Reverb amp. It came set up nicely, but I still did my thing with nut files ( I like strings pretty close). A great Fender sound and feel and the price cannot be beat for an axe of this quality. close [-]

People say you have to yank the pickups from MIM Fenders, but... read more [+] these pickups sound good tio me, especially for rock tones. Plenty of output and strong, throaty tone. The neck on mine even had a little flame to it, which is nice. The construction is solid, and it played great right out fo the box. The electronics are not top of the line, so Fender could do better on the pots and switches, but it's not a major problem. Sweetwater gave it a good setup. Loving the tone on this guitar for rhythm work, the full deepness. So much so that I've enhanced that tone by stringing the guitar with La Bella flat wound heavy strings (.015-.056), though this did r... read more [+]equire some work on the guitar---re-cutting the nut to accept the heavy strings and replacing the original bridge saddles with Graph Tech ones, again because of the extreme gauge of the strings. VERY happy with the results. The one small problem is the tremolo bar, which does not lock into place and so can simply fall out of the guitar at certain angles if you're not careful, but since i almost never use the tremolo it's not really an issue for me. close [-]
