Jackson JS2 Concert Bass at a Glance:
Jackson Quality: Jackson's JS series represents the best of Jackson's 30 years of axe-pertise, and the JS2 Concert Bass is no exception. You get killer tonewoods, high-output electronics, and a compound radius fingerboard, all at a price that belies its performance. And when you get on stage with this bass-beast in your hands, everyone will know you're playing a Jackson thanks to the iconic sharkfin inlays and tilt-back headstock. Compound Radius Fretboard: The JS2 Concert Bass features a 12"-16" compound radius fretboard for ultimate playability. The Indian Rosewood fingerboard is rounder near the nut for easy rhythm playing. As your playing heats up and moves up the fretboard, the radius flattens out for easier runs and big, big string bends. With a neck that plays this slick, you'll be up at the 24th fret before you know it. Powerful Electronics: Jackson stocks the JS2 Concert Bass with two high-output humbucking pickups, positioned to capture the fullest tone possible. Volume controls for both pickups allow you to blend them to taste, and a master tone control is present for final tone-tweaking. Jackson JS2 Concert Bass Features:
Pound your audience to the ground with the Jackson JS2 Concert Bass!

Johlene, Richmond, KY Reviewsbased on 1 reviewGreat bang for you buck
by Titus from SC USA
I purchased my JS2 to be a quick replacement for a Washburn Bantam, which needed more work than I had time for, and a Peavey Grind 5 string which has some of the most frustrating issues I've ever enco... read more [+]untered, but those are for other reviews. March 12, 2013 Music Background: gigging musician I received the Jackson on the night of a gig, about 20 minutes before setup time. I quickly installed the strap locks then checked tuning and intonation. I was pleasantly surprised that besides installing the strap locks NOTHING else was needed, this is the first instrument I've ever bought (new or used) that didn't need the action changed, truss rod tweaked, frets dressed or intonation set. I credit Sweetwater for that. I've had the bass for almost a month and used it in my last five gigs, it plays well and sounds good to me. I added the 'to me' because I am relatively new to playing bass, I've been a bassist for nearly a year as opposed to the 25+ years of playing guitar. The bass is light enough to be worn comfortably for the hours on stage with out the body being too light so that the headstock dives for the floor all night. I refuse to keep an instrument that requires me to chase the headstock all night no matter how good it sounds. Will this bass hold its own against higher priced, more feature packed basses? I do not know. I do know that it is better than my Dean Evo Bass, Peavey Grind and Washburn Bantam. None of them are considered top of the line by any stretch of the imagination but as a working musician on a budget they filled the need until the Jackson showed up. My current band plays quite a few styles from Adele to ZZ Top with some Skid Row, Chili Peppers, Ozzy .... Etc thrown in. This bass is having no problems keeping up. It isn't excellling at any particular style but it is capable of covering the styles I'm using it for. One little issue , that a friend of mine ran into when he sat in with the band , is that the pickup closest to the bridge was in his way when he wanted to slap and pop. All he had to do was adjust where he plays and it was fine. To sum it up... The Jackson JS2 is a lot of bang for the buck. It's attractive, plays well, sounds good and isn't murder on my middle aged shoulders and back. A lot of my musician friends had forgotten that Jackson makes basses and complement me on the looks and tones I get from the JS2. Nice Job Jackson.....OUTSTANDING WORK SWEETWATER. close [-] Also popular
