Ibanez Joe Satriani Signature JS1200 (Candy Apple Red) Reviews5.0/5.0 based on 1 customer review
This bright red guitar will make you want to stop and shred. I hear rave reviews on every JS I have ever sold.

PerfectionThis guitar is a real work of art. The technical aspect of the guitar is exceptional. The neck is absolutely perfect in my opinion. The two humbuckers give great sound with good range of variations. The controls are ideal for the guitar’s intended purpose.
The floating bridge takes time to tune but then it stays in tune. The vibrato or tremolo range is as good as it gets with the bridge floating on a knife edge beam.
The tremolo hits against the high frequency/volume control when the knob is pulled into its upper position. This may be intended and allows the vibrato arm to rest in a fixed location.
This guitar, as any, should spend a few dollars with a good guitar adjustment professional to bring the nut, neck and bridge into perfect adjustment. I adjusted mine to perfection and it is the easiest guitar I have ever played in my life. I am a perfectionist and can tear any guitar apart in a review but this is the best guitar I have ever played. Your only consideration should be if this guitar is in the class of guitars you are interested in. If you want a hollow body or a classical guitar then it might not serve as the only guitar you have. However, I use the guitar for a wide variety of music. I like it for Chet Atkins finger picking style. The most difficult thing I had to learn was to put less pressure on the neck because of the ease of playing.
I would suggest you buy a popular Joe Satriani CD and listen to what this guitar can do. Your limitations as a guitar player will never be because of this guitar.
From the moment I opened the case for this guitar, I was amazed at the quality that went into the making of this instrument. The case by itself is a testament to the attention to detail that was given to ensuring the guitar is very well protected. The JS 1200CA fits into the case like a "glove". After taking the guitar out and actually starting to play it, it made an impression on me that this truly is not only a great looking instrument, but it "begs" to be played! It is very evident that Joe Satriani really put a lot of thought into his collaboration with Ibanez in making a guitar that not only awes the eye, but is just downright playable. One has to appreciate the quality of the all around build and performance-especially at this price point. The JS 1200 CA is equipped with DiMarzio humbuckers that satisfied my lust for a high gain sound, yet by rolling off the volume control I found that I could achieve clarity-due to the high pass filter built in. Even at lower volumes, this ax maintained crystal clear precision. I used a Marshall tube combo amp and the results were fabulous! If you're looking for a guitar that has a "royal lineage" and is versatile(Whammy bar included), this is the one!
