Nice head at a great price..

Got this at Gearfest. Happened into the Marshall tent and was somehow the only one there at the time. Got a thorough demo by the Marshall rep and was blown away. With the great price, couldn't turn it down. I play it through a Mesa 2-12 vertical cab with vintage 30's and it covers all the tones I need.
Normally not impressed with most amps on board effects, but these are very good. All the different preamp settings are tweak able and I found all to be useful but I am not a metal guy so I avoid that. The footswitch works great and is easy to program on the fly, so you don't have to scroll around in the middle of a song to find the tone you need. You shouldn't fear the digital preamp as it sounds great to me. Quite a bargain..

If gigging cover tunes in Bar & Restaurants is your thing,,, this is the perfect ticket. Pair it with a 2x12 cab and it'll sound great at low volume and still sound great, cranked above the drummer. It's replaced my Marshall TSL for gigging. Nothing digital sounding about it......

JMD50 review

I have been a all tube amp guy for 40 years.
I have heard good and bad about this amp, but till you try it for yourself you never know. I have had it for only 4 days and I am still learning all the ins and outs. I have been playing this amp with out any of my pedals and I really don't see any use for them right now. I will plug my crybaby in is all. The big deal about this amp is does it sound and act like a all tube amp. Yes it does, so close that I really don't think I would have known it wasn't. The 50 watt amp has 2 EL34's and one ECC83 for the phase inverter. the amp is very load I never get the master volume over 5, If you just play in your home or small gigs you will not need a 100 watt JMD. At the new price of just $599 I don't see how you can go wrong. If you want some of Marshall best tube amps all in one, this is the amp for you. I am have a great time with my new JMD. Its like I got a big truck load of Marshall's sent to me. I am in Marshall heaven right now.
This is a must have amp.

good value

I will admit the major reason I didn't buy one of these originally was because of the china connection but naturally with gas prices going up the premier marshall I had in mind was quickly becoming a distant dream. Once marshall did the price drop I started doing my research on this model.
Couldn't find but a few bad reviews out of hundreds so I ordered one.
Glad I did. This is a working mans Marshall. Has all the tones you'll need. Just spend time tweaking it to your taste and it will reward you. Very happy I bought it.
