The JJP Strings and Keys processor seems to add a warmth and fullness that can make slightly brittle sounding samples and synths sound smooth and lush. This also brings synth parts out in the mix nice... read more [+]ly. All the Waves signature plugins seem to make parts sit better in a mix. January 3, 2012 Music Background: serious home studio enthusiast, gigging, teaching, recording guitarist The Space control is a reverb. I tend to prefer to add reverb separately as a send effect, but it's there if you wish to put some on a synth or keyboard track. Presence and girth sliders are very musical and pleasing sounding EQ controls. The doubler is a nice feature to have for stereoizing and adding lushness. I noticed one bit of quirky behavior. The Strings and Key plugin tends to want to mess with the attack of the first note it processes. When a signal first passes through it, it accentuates the attack. Not what I always want, especially if the sound being processed is a pad or string patch that is supposed to fade in gradually. It will actually put an abrupt attack on a sound that is supposed to have a slower attack time. Adjusting the main and master sliders doesn't seem to fix it. Turning the compression knob all the way down doesn't seem to make it go away either. But other than this strange thing it does with the attack when it first begins processing signal, the sound quality is definitely warm, lush and very pleasing. close [-] Also popular
