From Our Research Team:Peavey JF-1 EXP Hollow-body ElectricThe Peavey JF-1 hollow-body electric guitar plays like a dream. Jazz and fusion players are constantly playing up and down the fretboard and need as much access as possible, especially in the upper registers. Peavey took this classic design one step further by ever so slightly angling the neck to allow more comfortable access to the upper register of the fretboard.Peavey JF-1 EXP Features:

Reviewsbased on 3 reviewsA Great Discovery
by The Pi Thor Project from Michigan, USA
This guitar has been a great discovery. I have a fairly large collection but wanted a jazz electric at a fair price, something I can beef up/customize. My intention was to install new pick-ups to impr... read more [+]ove the sound, but once I patched into my Vox and Fender tube amps… to my surprise, the sound was good. The pickups are pretty responsive for being stock with finish, action and construction exceeding my expectations.April 12, 2009 Music Background: Guitarist since 1969, Jazz Fusion, Classic Rock Neck dimensions are great and required no set up. No tight string spacing that you usually find on a lot of prissy solid-bodies. I play a lot of steel acoustic, 6, 12 and nylon classical. This JF1 neck is sweet. Harmony Central has a ridiculous review about the JF1 neck not being mahogany and the guy is actually whining about it. Let’s get real. I personally could care less. The entire guitar was constructed under decent specs at a very reasonable price. It is made in China and quality may vary, but the one I have is tops. If you want the Gibby 335 instead, go ahead. The JF1 paint, binding and gloss finish were flawless and the neck is integrated into the body. No bolt-on application and no back access panel. The overall workmanship on this guitar at such a low price is sinful, yet people will still complain, perhaps expecting solid woods, SD pups, 24k gold and a free lunch for $299. The sound on this axe gives a deeper tone compared to a solid body with a more gutsy roar on the bass strings. Sustain was excellent. Some out there will lower a guitar rating because no case was included. That’s unjustified. It’s nice to know that the price paid is for the guitar only without having an accessory rolled in. If I was paying $3000 for an instrument, then yes, a case should be in the package, but with this JF1, I wouldn’t dream of expecting extra when the cost is low enough. This semi-hollow; based on fit, finish, pick-up response, hardware and price gets 4 out of 5 stars and I’m the only one on the block that has one. close [-] A VERY NICE GUITAR
