One look is all it takes to know the Victor Bailey Jazz Bass is a very special instrument. It starts with a beautifully figured top made from rare and exotic koa over a rosewood and mahogany body. This combination resonates like no other bass thanks to Fender's specially formulated polyester finish.

Two Special Design Noiseless pickups
An instrument as special as the Victor Bailey Jazz Bass deserves a special set of pickups, so Fender dropped in two Special Design Noiseless pickups with Samarium Cobalt magnets that help to deliver a sweet, warm sound that perfectly matches the instrument’s good looks.

Specially voiced tone circuitry
The tone shaping abilities of the Victor Bailey Jazz Bass are enhanced by special circuitry that has been tweaked at the input stage with pre-shape, boost and EQ settings. Bass EQ is centered at 40Hz (plus/minus 12dB) while the treble EQ is centered at 8kHz (plus/minus 10dB). The mid-control is set at 500Hz with a wide-band slope for a distinctive bass sound all its own.

Leo Fender wasn’t a guitar player, so he didn’t really know that guitars weren’t supposed to have maple necks. Eventually, the blond maple necks became a Fender trademark. This Artist Series Victor Bailey Jazz Bass has a nicely balanced maple neck with a modern “C” shape and a rosewood fingerboard. A koa headstock overlay adds the final touch of class.
