Christopher , Sasvannah, GA Reviewsbased on 10 reviewsBest 5 String Bass for the $$
by Gary from Oklahoma
I was very surprised at how well this bass played and sounded. It's not the best 5 string bass made, but for the money it can't be beat. Low action, smooth, fast, straight neck. Really nice feel to it... read more [+].January 9, 2013 Music Background: Weekend Musician Looks fantastic and very good fit and finish. Sound quality is a bit lacking if you're wanting to use this bass regularly on gigs. Good overall tone, but just a bit thin for my taste. I'm replacing the pups with SD Quarter Pounds and the capacitor as well. Hopefully this will fill out the sound. Even with the stock pups this bass is well worth the money. I have no problems recommending this bass whether you're a seasoned musician or just starting out. Of course, Sweetwater makes it easy to purchase and follows up with great customer service. close [-] Best Buy For The Money.......End of story !

As a newbie to 5 strings I initially found it very alien after a lifetime with Fender 4 strings but the extra string adds great versatility. I played a bunch of 5 strings before getting this and I really don't regret buying this at all, love it!! close [-]

February 16, 2012 Music Background: BASS,GUITAR AND KEYBOARDS IN CHURCH Not to be Over-looked
by Rob Parker from Murfreesboro, TN
This bass is not to be over-looked. I've played them all, Fenders, Gibsons, Musicmans, Rickenbackers, etc. I know what makes a good bass. I need a 5-string to support all my 7-string guitar music and ... read more [+]I didn't have a lot to spend. Every time I pick this bass up, I'm amazed again and again at how well built it is, how it plays, and the way it sounds. You can't ignore the looks either, the pictures don't do it justice. I'm considering getting the 4-string version as well! I can't say much about Squier guitars, but Squier's basses are SOLID. My one and only complaint is that the pick-ups get noisy when the volumes aren't even - but you're likely to swap them out anyway. close [-]
