The Fender Select Jazz Bass is exactly as the name implies - select. All the tonewoods are premium from the alder body with maple top to the quartersawn maple neck to the rosewood fretboard. A duo of new Fender Select pickups were designed to give the Select Jazz Bass its rich and full low end while preserving the growling midrange associated with Jazz Basses. From the Fender/Hipshot tuners to the High Mass Vintage bridge to the custom G&G Case, no expense was spared on the American-made Fender Select Jazz Bass^®.

The Select neck
The neck is one of the most important aspects of any instrument, and the Fender Select Jazz Bass features a quartersawn maple neck. Besides looking good, the straight grain of quartersawn necks is about 50% more stable than plain-sawn necks, and less likely to warp, twist or shrink. You'll love the playability and feel of the Select Jazz Bass's compound-radius fretboard. Down low, your fretting hand will appreciate the 9.5" radius that keeps things nice and comfortable for natural, relaxed arpeggio work. Up top, a 14" radius lays it all out flat for effortless, low-action high-speed runs without fretting out.
