Gibson Burst Bucker #3

really great sound...without heavy mods..to your stock Les Paul or any other guitar you may own. Two wire conductor..wiring is just like factory on my deluxe..easy swap..and much better highs..sharp tones...works good mixed with neck pick up as well...if you decide to buy..also consider Burst Bucker #2 for neck..to round at your sound. You want regret it. I also choose the zebra...because they look cool..price a little less..and open with no plate between your pick up and strings! Check around do your research...Sweetwater..is the best place to buy..great service and they care.

PAF Heaven!!!

I had been looking for some time to replace the 500T in my les paul classic. And, i found it and more in the BB#3! I chose the open zebra coil. The 500t is a good pup if you only want to play metal, but, the BB#3 does it all and is very musical unlike the 500t. It sings! Power chords dont seem like a blob of sound now. now i can hear each individual string! And screams when you want it to. This pup also seems to let my tube amp shine more and do what it is supposed to instead of overpowering it like the 500t does. I love the zep tones i get now! Sounds great clean, overdriven with just my marshall, or with a distortion box. Add a little delay and WOW! I was worried about it not being potted, but, no feedback at all (except the good kind ). My friends all cant believe the tone. The ask if i got a new guitar, and, in a way i did. My axe finally sounds like a les paul ( a vintage paul to boot!). If you like zep as much as i do this is about as close as you can get(too bad gibson doesnt sell the custom page BB) Why do you think one of the reasons gibson discontinued the first page guitar? It was the pickups ( and a few other things), the 500T is not his style at all and he was unhappy with the guitar. The BB#3 is not just a zep type pup though it nails everything i need it too (except speed metal) but you can get a stompbox for that. If your looking for that vintage les paul alnico 2 PAF sound, this is the pup. If your worried about it not being wax potted you can always do that yourself like eddie van halen did with his vintage paf's on his early guitars. A BB#2 will soon be going in the neck position. The only bummer is it is so vintage ( 2 conductor wiring) that you cant coil split or anything) but its very easy to install. Hats off to gibson on a remarkable pickup.
