Customer Reviewsfrom February 6, 2011 NOT BAD BUT NOT GREAT EITHERI received this amp plugged in and powered on and it would not make a sound. I connected the amp to another speaker and played through it about 2 hours. The signal finally came through. When it was working, it sounded decent. It was definitely an improvement from the 15w 8inch practice amp I was used to but the previous review stating the problems with the low end is absolutely correct. There is a lot of distortion from this thing at the low end. This amp is worthless to a 5 string player. Sweetwate told me to send it back and that they would replace it. I decided to go ahead and spend the extra money to get the 115c and I am really glad I did. If you are considering getting one of these hydrive combos, I recommend that you get the 115c.from Bennington, Vermont February 8, 2010 Music Background: I've been making steady money playing BASS since 1986 Good at LOW volume, not good for 5 string basses, not a gig amp.I've had Hartke gear for years... The kickback 12, the 2115 combo the 210 combo. The HA3500 head with the 115 cab. and the 410 cab. This amp has good mids and highs but just cannot handle low frequencies very well.I did everyhting to get this amp. not to fart on any note below the A on the E string forget anything below the E on the B string...Below halfway on the gain knob, maybe at 10 o'clock everything seemed to be handled by the woofer. It seems to me the speaker is not matched well to the amp. This amp. is best for 4 string bass players and ones that like a lot of mids and highs in their sound...? I liked the Kickback 12 much better...
