ed coxfrom fairport,newyork July 10, 2012Music Background: hobbyist great cabient greatersoundi haveksnt own alot of heads or cabiients, own low end marshall. always wanted fender dualshowman never could afford it. ive only had my blackstar a few weeks i cant say enough good things about blackstar.i also bought a new prs se satantana guitar.really love my new gear,thanks sweatwater for such great service.
Brianfrom WV November 20, 2011Music Background: Hobbyist Blackstar Ht- 408 CabinetRecently purchased this cabinet from sweetwater to accompany my blackstar ht-5r head for home practice, I play a variety of music from classical to metal using several different guitars. Some with active pickups, some with p-90's. so i pretty much have all styles covered. The fit and finish of this cabinet is excellent, As far as sound is concerned, it is a very clear and focused sound and actually works quite well for practice senarios, even on the distortion channel it sounds nice. It does get quite loud but it starts to sound bad if i turn the amp volume over 3/4. It also definitly lacks the bottom end you would expect out of larger speakers. I beleive the cab is actually designed for the ht-1 so the ht-5 pushes it a bit to far. If i had it to do over again i would have purchased the 10 or 12 cabinet to go with my amp. But it is still a nice cabinet for practice and the quality is top notch! My experience with sweetwater has been great! |
